Default Can I carry at Angels Stadium of Anaheim (aka Anaheim Stadium)?

Q: Can a licensed CCW holder carry at Angels Stadium of Anaheim (aka Anaheim Stadium)?

Some have reported being told by Anaheim PD that only Anaheim PD can carry off-duty in the stadium. So, by policy, not even off-duty LEOs from other agencies can carry - so no, obviously no CCW holders. The Angels website simply states that no weapons are allowed.

That being said, security is typically bag-check only, so unless you're carrying in a purse or backpack, concealed means concealed. Being a private venue, state law does not prohibit off-duty LEO or CCW holders from carrying inside the stadium - but do so at your own risk!

If someone happens to quote you the following Anaheim municipal code section...
Quote:
Anaheim Municipal Code
6.32.040 BEING ABOUT PLACE OF PUBLIC RESORT WHILE HAVING CONCEALED DANGEROUS OR DEADLY WEAPONS — PROHIBITED.
It shall be unlawful for any person who has concealed upon his person any dangerous or deadly weapon to loiter or be about any place where intoxicating liquors are sold or any other place of public resort. (Ord. 726 § 4; June 18, 1948.)
...then make sure to point out the preceding section:
Quote:
Anaheim Municipal Code
6.32.010 "DANGEROUS OR DEADLY WEAPONS" DEFINED. The term DANGEROUS OR DEADLY WEAPONS as used in Sections 6.32.010 through 6.32.050 of this chapter includes, but is not limited to, any dangerous or deadly weapon...and any firearm other than:
.010 One carried pursuant to valid permit issued by duly authorized governmental authority; or...

Subject: RE: Security question about Anaheim Stadium

Thank you for taking the time to write to Angels Baseball.

We have checked with the Anaheim Police Department who have told us that absolutely no one can bring any weapons but APD, or ON-DUTY law enforcement who is attached to APD i.e. - Secret Service.

We know that this is a sensitive issue but the policy is very clear and we hope this doesn't deter you and your group from enjoying a spring day or evening at the ballpark!

We hope this answers your question and if you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to write again.

Regards,
Angels Baseball
