CCW at the OC Fair
Active / Retired LEO - Good to go
Private Citizen - Cannot carry (No law or code was stated, so this must be their policy)
Quote:
Thank you for inquiring about our CCW regulations prior to joining us at the Fair. Our rules allow a current or honorably retired law enforcement officer to carry a concealed weapon on the grounds if they can provide a valid ID card that is CCW endorsed. .
We ask that you contact our security staff at the bag inspection station and advise them that you have a weapon and produce the valid ID. (please do not display the weapon) You will be allowed to pass.
This policy does not extend to private citizens who have a CCW permit. Private citizens even with a valid CCW permit are not permitted to bring weapons on the grounds.
In all cases, the management of the fair grounds reserves the right to ask a patron to leave if they create what management considers to be an unsafe condition. In other words, the consumption of alcohol on the grounds while carrying a weapon is not permitted, and you will be asked to leave.
Please understand that these rules are in place to make the venue a safe and enjoyable experience. I am a retired law enforcement officer so I understand the issues about carrying off duty weapons. I would ask that you really consider whether a weapon is needed during your visit.
Sincerely,
Richard Groscost
