Yesterday I went to buy a case of 9mm and a case of .40. I was expecting them to be about $250, maybe $300 each. Instead they were just under $400 a case. I was ready to spend some money, but not $800.
I think I need to start ordering online but have some questions. I've seen many posts on where to buy and will probably shop around a bit. My questions are more about ordering into California. Are there any restrictions I need to know about? Do any of the online retailers refrain from shipping to CA because of our laws, fear of litigation, etc? I'm all for learning by doing, but if any of you can help smooth the road ahead I'd really appreciate it! |

I get a lot of my ammo via the internet. The two vendors I use are:
Natchez Shooters Supplies Georgia Arms You can find their policy for internet sales in the respective web site. Not too difficult to comply with.

I agree that Walmart seems to have the best price for practice ammo. By the time you add shipping it's just not worth buying FMJ online. But for self-defense ammo I still like Ammunition To Go. They have perfectly legal stuff that the average joe just can't buy readily and they have it pretty darn cheap.

Thanks for the links. I already use Natchez, but I did not see any 5-7 ammo at Georgia Arms. Maybe I was looking in the wrong direction? ![]() |

Georgia Arms sells very good quality reloads. I prefer their reloads over CCI brass. They sell in quantities of 500 and 1000 rounds. My last purchase of 45 ACP, including shipping, was $33.50 per 100 rounds.

I've found in the past that when purchasing ammo online that the shipping cost pretty much equalizes any savings I got on the ammo. You are paying to ship a large quantity of brass and lead
Thank god for my Dillon ![]()

I used to buy at Wal-Mart almost exclusively, it was more a convenience thing than anything but that was years ago. It was mostly 12g and .22. Those prices are pretty darn hard to beat.
So now the question becomes what wins, my dislike of Wal-Mart or bank account? Sadly I think it's going to be my bank account. Oh well, at least the tax revenues will stay local I guess. |

![]() If price is a problem ,those of you who don't reload - you really should get into reloading to save money. Just remember to carry ONLY factory loaded ammo for CCW. Use the reloads for practice.

For example 5-7 ammo is $21.99 per 50 at Ammo Bros, more at other stores. Plus tax and the total for 250 rounds comes to $118.19 locally. The same ammo costs me $114.75 on-line. The difference is that I have to wait for them to arrive, but I still have a couple hundred rounds from before. ![]() |
