At one of our local supermarkets, I found the 123 cells for (packages of 2 cells) for about $6.50-ish and about $12.50-ish... One was a Duracell (I think) and the other was an Energizer Lithium battery. In general, my experience with those lithium batteries is that they DO last quite a while, but they're also a bit more expensive than the standard alkaline batteries.

They claim a shelf life or 10 years which beats out any alkaline batteries by far.
With the high intensity bulbs they will go fast, 1/2 hour to 1 hour depending on lumins.
The best prices I have seen are $18-21 when bought by the dozen.
In retail packs of 2 ea they run from $6 10 in my experience.
Buy by the dozen and you will have plenty when you really need them.
