I would absolutely relish a chance to get in that trailer. Is it going on tour up north anytime soon?

Cool What Part Of "ouch" That I Now Understand!!!!

PRISim;CCWInstuctor;FemaleInstructor and "OUCH!!!!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I CERTAINLY THOUGHT I "KNEW'" IT ALL, or certainly most of "it," but it is not until you are placed in a "situation" where you actually can get "shot back at," THAT unless you can really learn to "apply" that "Knowledge," you really can be in a real world of "HURT!" What part of "OUCH" will I not understand to help to reinforce the "Learning Curve," necessary to facilitate the proper training to be used to insure that I may "Bleed" here, (In the "PRISMin Trailer") instead of the Street, or even in the sanctity of my own home, when "danger" enters around me!

This fine, sunny, bright morning brought a number of a privleged few to CCWInstructor's "Trailer," where the training was intense, but the discussions and "De-Briefing" of every "situation," was incredible to the whole experience at hand. Each one of us had a different view as a participant in every "situation," whether being a direct "participant," or by being a "good witnesses." We thought we were all "good witnesses," but it is amazing how the instructors could really humiliate us into the reality that we all "suck," especially when we are sure of what we saw, or how we react in a "situation."

"Others," more professional with words will post here, defining and putting into words, if they can, the experience that was had today. It is not possible, I believe, to put into the "words," the value of the "training" that was received, and what we took home to think and reinforce in our little "brains," in such a way, as to really have the "knowledge," if and when it ever comes, that we need to be involved in a shooting. CCWInstructor is right, our greatest "Weapon," is our "Brain." (FemaleInstructor reminded me of that by making sure to think of where I should physically be, and know that just because I have a firearm in my hand, that does not make me "Super-Man!!!" What part of "OUCH" do I now understand what "Cover" is for!!!!!

Thank you again, not only to CCWInstructor and Female Instructor, but to the fellow "students," who helped us all to reinforce our training!!!!

Travel and Carry Safely......(I wish Madame Hutchens and a few of the "Anti-CCW's" could experience some of the "Training" that we get, as it may be well for them to know that we are not just a bunch of "Gun-nuts" carrying, but very concerned citizens who take this "reponsibility" seriously enough to keep training, and training, and training).

Thumbs up My second prism class was first rate

Last month I took Greg's Prism training class for the first time. I didn't know what to expect. My shots were all over the place, I was killed or injured in several of the scenarios.

Today, was a different story. As the cocky bast**d I am, I wore black, and brought a "bring it on" attitude. I was ready, I knew what to expect; expect the unexpected. Although I was "targeted" and took fire, my reaction time improved, and more importantly, my shots had much better grouping. Results, I survived, the BG lost. 1+ for the good guys!

Anyone who has not done this training, you owe it to yourself and your family. Better to shoot and regret here than in real life. The scenarios unfold incredibly fast, they are realistic, with some taken from actual, although reenacted, crime scenes.

My buddy Enzo experienced an eye opening, family changing event which left him speechless.

Thanks to CCWI and FI and to the other board members.

Today's class was really, really good. CCWI did a great job and with the skillful hand of FI in the back we were all in for some serious adrenalin dumps.

I have to say the PRISIM simulator is a must for all ccw holders. I actually think taking a class like this should get you major points with the issuing agency when your renewal comes up. Relax acceptable GC criteria and bump up the required training. Here's a thought!

Today was my second time in the simulator and I could 'keep my cool' a lot better than the first time around. Having said that, I think I will make it a regular event. The benefits can not be described, they have to be experienced. Yes, you will learn THAT much. Nothing comes close.

I give CCWI and FI 5 out of 5 stars for the quality and benefit of the PRISIM class. If you have not taken it you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to go through it.

Thanks Julie and Greg for another great experience. You guys are awesome.

After taking the simulator class with CCWI today, I can honestly say I'm amazed. I learned things about my reactions and my training that I would probably have never found out except in the most dire possible circumstances - and then it may well have been too late.

They say in life you start with an empty bag of experience and a full bag of luck - and the trick is to fill up the first one before the second runs out.

The simulator did in 4 hours what years of range training never could - it added some real substance to the experience bag.

I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity. I know I'll be going back as soon as I can.

I took the class yesterday as well. It was an awesome learning experience. If you want a shooting class, there are plenty out there. Buy a box of ammo and hit the range. If you want a class that teaches you to think under stress then this might be up your alley. CCWI puts you through scenarios that any of us could find ourselves facing in our day to day lives. It really makes you think....what would I do if.....? I can tell you it gave me a lot to think about and I am still processing it. How will you act in that spit second? How would others act? How does your action or inaction effect those around you? Would you act the same knowing the outcome? These are just some of the things you learn. Needless to say...when I have the time and money I will be taking it again.

Well, it's been several hours now, so I've had a chance to digest the training and....the small red welt on my knee has now stopped throbbing (thanks Julie!).....

First, this training really should be required for everyone who does, or wants to CCW. It's the closest thing to discharging a weapon against a bad guy that I hope to ever experience.

I am a newbie CCW holder, and while I've had safety and accuracy training over the years, this is the first time I had what I can only refer to as 'firearms mental training'! I really didn't know what to expect going into the session, but very quickly realized how intense the experience was going to be.

After some initial remarks about how the technology works and where to stand, Greg set up the first scenario and a student took his position. VERY quickly, you realize this training has less to do with shooting, and much more about situational awareness, alertness, taking charge and making the ultimate decision of shooting (or not shooting) and a multitude of other issues. Then, during the debriefing after each session, you get the benefit of learning from a true expert, a whole array is issues, open questions, legal implications and possible alternate responses that might have resulted in better / worse outcomes. Each person is faced with a unique and extremely challenging scenario, and you get to experience a taste of the stress and situational pressures that accompanies each one. A great benefit to the format Greg uses during the training, is his ability to get everyone in the group to be engaged in each scenario. Stressful yes, but Greg keeps it fun too!

Ultimately, I walked away with some specific techniques I can begin to practice, as well as the understanding that there are principals and tools I have to include in my training activities that go way beyond hitting static targets at the range. I intend to make this training a regular portion of my overall skill development plan and would strongly recommend others to do the same.

Definitely worth the money!

This was my first time as well and I have to agree, this training should be a must for everyone who carries. The training takes it to the next level. Just like range training adds more to the situation then just playing "Duck Hunt" (and I love Duck Hunt), having direct real-time feedback (i.e. someone shooting back) takes it to a whole new standard of realism and forces you to do more than just aim and shoot.

I'm planning to add this to my ongoing training plan.

LOL, he was seeing Julie in double for awhile. Not that that is bad, or anything.

And, yeah, if your heartrate does not go to max in your scenario, you ain't paying attention. The sim did make me realize a lot of new mental gymnastics go into handling yourself in a situation where a gun MAY be deployed, but I also learned I could draw and shoot to kill when push came to shove. It's the aftermath that will be mentally hard, for the least.
