Default Need a Shasta County Class...

Hello,

My girlfriend would like to get her permit so she needs to take a class. I took my class with a guy named Stan from Anderson and it was a great class at a great price... the only problem is I cant seem to find his number. I tried doing a google search on concealed carry instructors and I believe many of the numbers are outdated/disconnected.

So if anyone knows of any instructors (I try to stay away from gun shops, they tend to charge a ridiculous amount of money) that would be awesome.

Thanks

Jones' Fort, Bastiani Firearms (actually a provider associated with them) and the indoor range (I go there often enough I should remember the name) all offer CCW classes if that's what you are looking for.

I went to nice shot to do my class. It was the most expensive one in redding at $170, that was for a basic handgun class and the ccw class. For some reason they required the basic handgun class first. And I think jones fort was the cheapest at $120, this is what the prices were almost two years ago. I am due for my renewal in may and I am going back to nice shot since they have a classroom and an indoor shooting range

While I'm certified for Shasta County, I might be to far south for you.

Last time I was in Jones Fort it was posted at $150. I wish Patrick taught the class--his brother tends to bug the crap out of me with his "I'm always right and you're always wrong" attitude. Other than Nice Shot, which has an indoor range, all other shooting portions are done outside, which can be an issue in the summer and winter. I think Jones Fort uses the BLM range off Iron Mountain Road, the rest are on private property. Most if not all of the classes break it down to two consecutive Saturdays, 8 am to 5 pm, for a total of 16 hours for the initial cert as required by SCSO.

The application form lists the instructors and contact info. I think the info is also listed on the Sheriff's web site. Its part of the ccw application. Go to forms sections. You could call around. You might check w/ Bastianti Arms. Instuctor Ted Litie teaches from there. Past miltary master sergeant. Good luck.

He knows what he's talking about. He has been carrying for years in Shasta.

Very well respected instructor up here.
