Just wanted to drop a note here commenting on some training that I've done with "Uncle Scotty" at ITTS. I've taken his Intermediate Handgun & Advanced Handgun recently. This guy is definately the real deal when it comes to experience, teaching ability, and background. He's a retired LAPD "D" Platoon member (SWAT) and notably was responsible for all divisional in-service training with firearms within the LAPD for 10 years. He's currently instructing at ITTS and providing expert testimony in criminal and civil court in regards to the use of deadly force.
With his background he really makes each firing evolution interesting. When you break for rest your taught about why something he's had you do works in the real world. He backs it up with verifiable OIS (Officer Involved Shootings) and civilian shootings. I've yet to be told something in class that was not verifiable (not always the case elsewhere). He has the best range I have been to yet. He's able to replicate the 21 foot rule with a moving target that comes rushing at you from a given distance. When your shooting at it you understand just how fast the gap is closed. It sends you home with a chill on the back of your neck. ![]() ![]() ![]() He's got the shoot house, donga trail, static targets, moving targets, steel at 15-400 yards (yes, you learn to hit steel at 400 yards with your pistol... I guess you never know), and so much more. You shoot day and night, including from within and into vehicles. You take his class and you'll be safe but mentally tired. Uncle Scotty has you moving as fast as safely possible in order to have you learn a ton in one class. Check him out sometime. His classes really are worth the tuition ($190 a day on average). I initially was scared off by the tuition, until I went. Now I hope to attend atleast 3-4 times a year in addition to using my Frontsight membership. He is pro civilian and sworn for who he lets in his classes. ITTS Firearms School. Southern California's Elite Tactical Training Facility. International Tactical Training Seminars Oh, checkout his newsletters. They have some great information and it's not all about marketing like other places. |
