OCSD Public Range Closed for two months.
The ASC (Public) Range will be closed for two (2) months, starting Wednesday, October 31, 2007. This is due to the existing ventilation and exhaust system needs to be completely replaced. This will not affect any personnel from qualifying at the Katella Range and all firearms classes will still be taught as scheduled. Monthly and Quarterly Firearms Qualification requirements will still be in effect. Both MPRs (Mobile Pistol Ranges) will also be open during normal hours during this period.

OC Sheriff Range
I went to the OCSD range today-I LOVE it! First Class all the way in equipment and staff---felt very comfortable and able to concentrate and works on getting better at techniques--even got some advices and suggestions from the Range Master. I am seriously thinking about the yearly membership. Two months to change out the air system -seems like a long time to do the works..I heard something about a mobile shooting in Aliso somewhere-can you help with information-Are they tied together and share membership.

Th two mobile trailers are for agency use only. No public shooting.

This notice replaces the memo I sent out on October 4, 2007 regarding the ASC (Public Range) being closed for two months. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this construction project will now not start until Monday, November 19, 2007 at the earliest.
This notice is to let all our department members and the public know that our ASC (Public) Range will now be closed from Wednesday, November 21, 2007 through at least Sunday, December 30, 2007. This is due to the existing ventilation and exhaust system being completely replaced. This construction project may go into the first couple weeks of January of 2008, but that will be determined at a later date and I will make any amendments, if necessary. This closure will not affect any OCSD personnel from qualifying at the Katella Range and all firearms classes will still be taught as scheduled. Monthly and Quarterly Firearms Qualification requirements will still be in effect. Both MPRs (Mobile Pistol Ranges) will also be open during their normal hours this period. Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.
