Default Basic Handgun Training w/CCWInstructor

Hi All,

I just wanted to post a “Thank You” to CCWInstructor and his staff for a great class last Sunday. I attended the class with my son and daughter, both in their early twenties. I didn’t expect learn much but wanted my kids to get the basics since they want to purchase handguns. Boy, was I surprised! I expected the day to be long and the lecture boring. It wasn’t! That hour and a half lecture went quick was energetic and funny. The shooting was fun and the lunch time lecture was great. I have been shooting for a long time and I still learned alot. It’s amazing the bad habits you pick up over the years.

I especially appreciate the time you all spent with my daughter in helping with her aim. She told the range master at Fullerton PD (where she works as a meter maid and her mother and stepdad are police officers) about her experience and they are going to let her shoot there and give her more instruction.

My kids and I will be taking more of your classes sometime in the near future. I told some friends at work about the class and I think they are going to take some classes also.

I look forward to taking some more of your classes soon. I hope the next one is your CCW class!

Thanks again!
Mike

Those classes are a lot of fun and informative. My favorite part is how the basic students handle those range commands though!

Funny you mention that! At one point Greg changed his cadence with the "Fire" command. He gave the "Fire" command and we fired two rounds. He paused longer than his normal call out. My son fired to more rounds, there was a brief pause with the other shooters and I guess my daughter gave my son, as Greg said, the "WTF" look! Than people not sure if they should fire or not, shot there two rounds. I thought about it for a little bit, thinking should I wait or shoot. I shot! My daughter heard me shoot and figured she might as well shoot to! Greg made fun of us and gave the second command to fire two more rounds. On the third command to fire the last two rounds silence fell on the firing line! Nobody had two rounds left.

Heh, heh. I remember that pause. A few fell for it in my class, too.

Take the intermediate class if you want a full day of hot shooting. That class will wear you out! Glad you got a lot out of basic.

My GF and I just finished the same class today, and it was great! We had a great time, and learned a lot of great stuff.

Though, in our class, three people blew the pause (everyone but my GF and I, I'm proud to say)... Then they all did it again, even after CCWI *told* them they'd just blown the pause.
