Just a friend reminder. Prado IDPA match tomorrow, 11/3/07. I'll be wearing a Springfield Armory cap and I am also one of the virgin SO's they will try to break in tomorrow. Hope to see some of you guys there.

He is also Short, skinny and has a long pony tail. Looks like Hop Sing!

All this from a trained observer. But we all look alike to you.

I wish I had enough hair for a pony tail.

I do about 50% of my annual volume in the next three weeks... so tomorrow finds me in the office instead of at Prado. I will be missing for the first time since starting in July...

All this work is getting in the way of shooting...

You boys have fun... and remember to retain those mags!!!

Sorry I can't be there today.

When's the next introductory session for complete rank newbies?

They run matches there the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Check Prado IDPA web site for specific dates. So long as you are comfortable with presenting from the holster and shoot, you should be fine. Make sure you have the proper holster. Your everyday carry gear would be fine. There is a new shooter brief before the match. Very friendly and relax group of guys there. Read the rule book to get an idea for the match. The Safety Officer or other shooters there will help through your first match. That's how I started.

Default Next IDPA match at Prado 11/17/07

Next match is this Saturday. Should be a good turnout since this is the last match before the night match on the 24th.

Great I'll see you there. I usually shoot USPSA but am looking forward to this Saturday. The new shooter class starts at 8:30am? Look for me, I will be wearing my XD hat.

There is really not a class for new shooters. Just a briefing to explain the game to them and to expand on the range rules. We generally have the new shooters shoot towards the end so they can see how others shoot the stage and ask questions.

Thumbs up Shot my first IDPA

Had a great time shooting IDPA today. And I am looking forward to a special class being taught by a top IDPA shooter on January 6. This will be an all day class. The class is $100. Learned a lot from WKC about shooting IDPA. If you have not shot IDPA you should give it a try. See you on the range.

I gave XD lots of example of what not to do.

The class is being taught by Bob Hostetter. He is a master class shooter. If you hear someone in the next bay going full auto, then you are hearing Bob shoot. Definitely the technical aspects of shooting that Bob will go over will be well worth the time and money. Unfortunately, I will be driving my son back to school that day.

Good meeting XD and his friends.
