Default Backyard Training

I havent been able to consistently practice with firearms for the past 2 yrs due to be stationed in japan. I am about to be home on leave and i was wondering if anyone had any good drills to get me back up to speed that i could easily set up on my own. I am gonna be out in a rural area, there arent any actual ranges, but i have a lot of space and no one to really be upset about my practice.

Its easy enough to set up targets and do just simple drawing and presentation. But i was wondering if anyone had anything a little more creative.

Here are a number of live fire drills for you, the more famous being the Bill Drill and El Prez.

You will need a shot timer to measure your progress,

If you have to go back to Japan get an air soft gun. Shooting air soft can make you a world class shooter.

I luckily shouldn't ever have to be back in Japan. And the ridiculous thing is, i wouldnt even be able to have an airsoft gun in the barracks. They are considered weapons and you are required to check them into the armory. I dont know whose bright idea that was.

Well this old Leatherneck likes to fire while walking backwards/ sideways.
Doing doubletaps.
Fire from either side of a tree trunk/ obstacle.
Empty the magazine as fast as possible, while hitting multiple staggered targets. My favorite at the range, when I requalify for my CCW!!
Firing using the non-dominant hand.
Reloading quickly while in motion, or while in the prone position.
Hanging targets can be fun for that 2nd shot, while they are in motion. I use soda cans hanging from small tree branches on strings, for that drill doing doubletaps..

Heck anyone can stand still, take their time aiming, and shoot at a static target that is just sitting out there asking for it.
