Default Simpson Range in Humboldt County Closed??

Anyone know what is going on with Simpson Range in Humboldt County? The gate is double padlocked and there was no notice of closure. A few friends of mone asked...

It's one of the only local ranges that go out 600 yards or so.

There was an incident back in November 2008 that has forced us to relook at our policies and procedures.

SRA Senior Management and the owners are working on addressing it now.

Hopefully, the Range will be open again before the end of January 2009.

Thanks,

Is this an incident from which we all may learn a lesson or can it not be shared due to legal / investigative reasons?

There is a great deal to be learned from this incident.

At this point, however, it cannot be shared for both the reasons you noted above.

Thanks,

Fortunately we are a bit more responsible than some people.

I promise that I will share what I can when I can.

Thanks,

well, I read that post on Calguns.net...

Now tell me who could be so incredibly STUPID and do that?!

This particular person should be in jail rather than punish all of us range users, if you ask me.

I just read the "details" posted on Calguns.

They are incorrect in almost all aspects. Do not believe everything you read, especially on calguns.

As I said earlier, "I promise I will share what I can when I can".

Thanks,

Watch your tone. He has first hand knowledge and was commenting on the information that was misreported. And I for one am going to ASSUME that you inadvertently spelled his name wrong.

While not our enemy, they are no help when they have the facts wrong.
That's as far as I am willing to go down that road....

C'mon everyone, let's be nice. All I wanted is to know what happened, not start you all slinging mud at each other.
