Actually, the the only "mudslinger" in zinfull. He's obviously convinced that calguns, can do no wrong and decided to bad mouth, as 1buba rightly pointed out, a Senior Member and as I pointed out, someone who has first hand knowledge. And I too, am waiting to here the 411, just as soon as it is allowable.

POOGSDAD

Sr member or not I still take offense on your comment.

I just read the "details" posted on Calguns.

They are incorrect in almost all aspects. Do not believe everything you read, especially on calguns.

As I said earlier, "I promise I will share what I can when I can".

Yes you know what is going on so we will wait to find out your first hand knowledge. I have no problem with correcting wrong information. But why not just say " especially on the internet" You are the one who is insulting the calguns members. This type of holy then tho is great for the anti's and should be called when ever it appears.

I did not say calguns can do no wrong, far from it. I belong to many forums and do not trash any of them. There will always be some sort of misinformation on every board. You read and decide what you want and go from there. If there is an error and I personally know about it I will try to correct the problem.

Zinfull, your loyalty to and support for Calguns.net is to be commended and I respect you for it. Your post count on Calguns.net clearly indicates that you are regular contributor and example for other Calguns.net members.
*
However, this does not change the fact that the information posted regarding the issue at Simpson Range is inaccurate. Nor does it change the fact that this is not the first time inaccurate information has been posted on Calguns.net.
*
It is important to remember that most visitors and members view both Calguns.net and CalCCW.com as information resources. They will often make a decision or come to a conclusion based upon the information provided by our websites. Insuring that the information we provide is as accurate and timely as possible is the least we should do for our visitors and members.
*
It could easily be argued that inaccurate information can be and is occasionally posted on CalCCW.com as well. Fortunately we have very good verification and validation processes here that minimize these occurrences and correct any incorrect information when it occurs in as timely a manner as possible. I do not believe you can honestly make the same statement regarding Calguns.net.
*
As a member of CalCCW.com you are a valued and important part of our family. I apologize to you, as one CalCCW.com member to another, for the offense you took from my statement regarding Calguns.net. I do, however, stand by my statement.
*
My loyalty to and support for CalCCW.com is no less strong or committed than yours is for Calguns.net. Among the core values of CalCCW.com is that the information we provide will always be as accurate and as timely as possible. We will not always be able to tell people what they want to hear. We will, however, always tell people what they need to hear. *
*
Respectfully,
*

I may never visit the range but I am concerned on range closures. I read the article in calguns and really did not think it sounded correct. It maybe just me but I give most people who handle guns a lot more credit than shooting at a secured range.

I am a jr here because I live in Sonoma County, no ccw here. I post when I can add information and help. If you want to know about wine or WWII German pistols or C&R info I will help. There maybe people with more posts but I have been a member on this board before most.

I was childish about your name. I am sorry. I will take a suspension for that.

FYI: site status has nothing to do with wether one has a CCW or not

Default Update: Good News!!!

I was notified late last night that an agreement has been reached between the Simpson Range Association and the land owners, Green Diamond Resources.

Simpson Range will reopen within the next two weeks and a scheduled shooting event will occur on the 19th of February.

There will be some internal changes regarding range safety and operational requirements as well as a reduction in where rounds can be fired.

Some of the operational changes will occur immediately and the range will reopen as soon as a sufficient number of Range Masters have been re-certified.

Some physical changes to the range will also be occuring over the next six months as well to comply with the agreement between Green Diamond and the SRA.

I am reluctant to specific details at this time as some are still being worked out and others are not planned for full implementation until some time in the future.

As I stated previously, I will share what I can when I can with all of you.

I appreciate your patience and support and thank you all for what you do.

Poogsdad

Sounds like some encouraging news for people that use the range there.

That is good news...BUT will we still have the long range targets at 500+ yards? That's why I went to Simpson Range in the first place.

Unfortunately, no. When range reopens the 300 yard line will be the longest range targets available. Green Diamond will be doing survey and development work beyond 300 yards fo some time.

I wish I could give better news. I likewise enjoy shooting at ranges beyond 300 Yards.

Thanks,

Poogsdad

Well, 300 yards is better than none.
