OK, one thing of note from the conversations that Quietpi and I have had:

This range is setup for pistol, or short range rifle; 35 yards, so for those of us that were thinking of bringing long guns for 100 yard sparring, well, maybe defensive drills with carbines would be more realistic? We'll need to discuss those kinds of options with the facility folks.

I'm hoping to get up there to see the range in the next week or two, maybe Saturday after the Fresno Gun Show or as my work schedule permits, but I think we've got a flavor of what we might be able to do and a target date to look at.

Tango-52, you are going to LOVE the Inland Passage Cruise.

Conflict with dove season, there wouldn't be much in choosing in my book if I were scheduled for a wild boar hunt. Since I started this, I'll see it through, come hell or high water.

IF interest is high... we can use 5Dogs in Bako... room for about 15 pistol shooters on the paper range if all are shooting simultaneously.... about the same on the steel range... 500 yd rifle, sporting clays, free standing clays... .22 range with lots of metal... and a couple of private setups... I have access to most of it is my company can fit it in to sponsor... however, it is always fun for me to visit other ranges...

I am very interested and will drive on down from Eureka. I do have a commitment the first part of September, but I will difinately be there unless I am still out of state.

Thanks,

Sounds like great fun, but I don't think it's possible for my wife & I. The best bet for me is to try to meet some of you in September when we're in SoCal for our daughters wedding.

I am interested, just depend on actual date as I will be out of the country between Sept/Oct plus a host of family events during that time.

I think I'm actually free that weekend. I'll have to check with my wife to be sure, but if I am I'll be there. Hopefully she'll come along as well!

Exclamation Please Check New Poll

OK, so we have generated a substantial ammount of interest. From some of the conversations I've had offline it sounds like most would prefer a range with the choice of pistol AND rifle. That pretty much would rule out the River Oaks Range East of Turlock.

5 Dogs near the Famosa Dragstrip, 20 miles or so N/O Bakersfield has both, and it sounds as though El Gato may have an "in" there. This change may be good for the SoCal group but will add an additional 2-3 hours for anyone coming from UH.

I've started a new poll to determine if we want a STRICTLY PISTOL with the potential training opportunities or a PISTOL and RIFLE day.

New Poll is located here.
