Now tell me what you really think!

I've done some dry fire and realized I had somewhat modified into a more passive stance. Could play into it some. I was able to keep a 'fairly' tight shot group all the way out to 25 yards, which is as far as I can go at this particular range. However, I have realized that the burn on my palm was really bothering me. I think the XD is pretty similar in recoil to my Ruger, and I don't have the problem with it. So, until I can get back out to the range, I won't know for sure. I was going to go right back out the next day, but in light of the fact that the burn on my hand was afecting other daily tasks, I thought I should wait until it was healed in case that is the problem. Hubby and I have a date for tomorrow though Very romantic, just the two of us, our guns and plenty of ammo.

As far as the BUGS search, I'm still pretty undecided. After reading some Ayoob last night("Combat Handgunnery"), I'm even more undecided! I'd never really considered a revolver as I've never even shot one. But I may just rent one next time I'm at the range.

Congrats on the new gun. I have an XD 45ACP compact with the service added mags. I love it. I am at 3500 rounds so far no malfunctions at all. It is on my ccw and very easy to conceal in a IWB or belly band for now. Keep practicing the 40 cal was a little punchier when I looked at it and the recoil tool a little effort to control. That is why I chose the 45ACP the recoil is feels like it is actually straight back towards you rather then up, making it easier to control.

Gotta love the XD. I just took my new XD45 to the range today

I turn in my CCW application on monday so hopefully my new favorite will someday soon be with me all the time.

Musclegirl- I had a tough time getting the tenth round (4" service model) in mine at first but after 200 rounds the mag springs did seem to loosen up a bit.

I simply got tired of shredded fingers breaking in my XD mags and got the UPLULA. 1st round or 10th round, no problem. When you go through 200+ rounds in a day at the range, you WILL appreciate it.

The mag spring has loosened up enough that the 10th round isn't so tough now. Took it out and put another 100 rounds through it. Again, not a single issue with the gun! I didn't have the shooting low problems that I was, so it had to be anticipating the recoil which was agravating the burn on my hand.

Glad to see things have gotten better with the mags and you are enjoying your new toy!

I'm a big XD fan also. I have two, both in 9MM. First was the compact you got then I later picked up a used 4" model. Both shoot great. Never any problems and I've put over 4,000 rounds thru the compact. Enjoy!

... well, at least until tomorrow when I go shoot it again
I was gonna say put some muscle in it. I left my M&P 40 mag full for about a week and I've never had a problem loading the last round in since.

We... the misses, the daughter and I went to Thunder Ranch last week and shot our XD 45's... me with my 13 round mags... the misses with her 10 rounders... we loaded all of our mags with the UPLULA... as only a REAL HE MAN... muscle bound gorilla type knuckle draggin'.... I mean kinda outa shape but not really... type guy would... the misses used the UPLULA to load all of her mags and in a most dainty manner I might add and she loaded the daughters glock mags while we were at it, at least most of the time....
Very fast...
Wed at the Dept. range... I loaded 9 15 round glock mags with the UPLULA in the same time it took my fellow range staff to load 3 glockster mags by hand... less loadin' time means more shootin' time....

YOU MUST BUY THE UPLULA!

the guy next to me was shooting a Kimber Uc II all week... wait not all week... it took a little dump on the last day... after market mag release bought the farm... guy said he had shot about 6,000 rounds through it without a hitch....

Wanted to shoot the XD cause that's my house gun.. it has night sights on it... the 24/7's and I wanted some experience using it in a training environment... found out I tend to shoot a couple of inches high when no backlight on the sights... interesting

Besides... this is about musclegirls xd and I was trying to stay on task.. and you took me off of task with your simple question!

You really are an evil genius....

MG... I've got the same XD .40... love it. A little fat for concealed if you ask me... like the SW J frame for riding the motorcycle for this reason...

Been eyeing the LCP myself, but it ain't gonna happen here in CA... too bad... it looked perfect.

I've found that if I grunt real loud, I can get that 9th round in there... however, I get the stinkeye from any in the vicinity...

My .40 has never misfired or malfunctioned... must have close to 600 rounds through it. Accurate... very little flip... easy to maintain... love it... just a little fat... like me...

Congrats on your subcompact...

If you had an UPLULA... you wouldn't have to make unmanly noises when loading... Please follow the following link for an interesting You Tube kinda experience...
