Hahaha. I knew somebody would come up with that line.

Still like the steel framed commander and the XD better... but again they weigh more...
The kimber mag has been flawless for 300-400 rounds... as are the Novak mags...
Mostly winchester and reloaded ball...
Waiting on the purchase of the dillon 650 to really crank up the round count... and maybe a night sight for the front sight... then I'll have to start carrying the dang kimber....It has sucked me into the Kimber Zone!
How do you like the Kimber TOOL for taking the gun apart for cleaning.
what happens if you lose the tool, can you use something else then the tool provided?

I've always used a paper clip.

TOOL....THERE'S A TOOL...WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE TELL ME ABOUT THE TOOL....WHERE IS IT...WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE...OMg....wait a minute... I went to the friends of the NRA dinner and wound up with a gun that TAKES A TOOL TO STRIP .... Oh... it was free... a table gift...Ha I laugh in the face of free... I paid alot of money to buy a table and wound up with a gun I can't fieldstrip without tools.....

Should of taken the Charles Daley single action 45.... I'll bet they don't need a tool to field strip that baby....

Oh... wait a minute... I used to have a kimber with a guide rod that took a little allen wrinch lookin' tool thingee to strip it down... That must be what you are talking about...?

I guess when I get around to cleaning the dang thing I'll have to get the "tool" outa the box... or use an allen wrench like I did before...First the Kimber sucks me into the vortex and now it needs a tool... I'll keep shooting it till it jams and then I'll think about cleaning... I'm at about 400 rounds now...now I know why I never cleaned it before... Tool... Dang

Breathe. Relax. And as Tango-52 mentioned, bend up a paper clip. It works just fine.

Relax he says... one of the first things I did when I bought my Springfield Loaded model... before I loaded it... was to THROW OUT THE DANG GUIDE ROD SO I COULD STRIP THE GUN WITHOUT TOOLS....

Ok ... so I might've known about the tool and perhaps I am engaging in a feeble attempt at levity on this friday evening... It isn't as if I'm not talking about something that is a real sore spot...

If you're missing the take down tool for your Ultra Carry, you can always buy a CDP II (see picture posted above) and use the tool that comes with it on both guns.

You can buy a new for 1.95 from Kimber or use a paper clip. Your choice.

You are sooooo inventive/sinister/sneaky/convoluted/whatever... I like that about you... looked at the tactical lightweight govt. kimber thing at the gun shop yesterday and it has a guiderod thingee... I'd just throw that one away...the guide rod not the gun... cause it's a govt. and J.M. Browning didn't include it in the gun when he done invented it so it don't need one.... or use it as a paperweight or something... but then I could use the tool for the ultra carry it everywhere gun.... or am I reaching? anyone...anyone...?

I've had FTF issues with my Kimber Ultra Carry II as well, but not as much since I've broken it in. I do admit though, there is the thought in the back of my mind that I do hope it fires when I actually DO need it.

Congrats on the new piece...enjoy!
Funny I was having those same issue with mine. I just came back from the shop and have not found the time to try itout. I think that's why I have hesitated from using my little kimber lately.
