Default Sig P6 9mm

Because the price was too good to pass up, I purchased one of the refurbished German Police trade-ins and picked it up the other Friday. Being out of town that weekend, I had to wait until this Friday to try it out. So a trip to the range on Friday, Saturday and today and 350 rounds later, I can say that it was money well spent. Like all my Sigs, accuracy is excellent. Being an "O" frame shooter, I was spoiled and found the trigger heavy in both single and double action. The hammer spur is not a solid piece and in fact has a section missing. The internet explains their rationale for this peculiar feature, so the German police must train alot in hand to hand. The pistol is single stack and the overall sihloutte seems about the same size as my Sig 229 in 40 cal so it would be a workable option as a CCW pistol. Feeding was flawless but I was only using fmj Winchester White Box, so I have no recommendations on the semi-jacketed or hollow points. But its a Sig so I don't expect there to be a problem.

My wife bought one, also. Hers is made in 82 and looks unfired. Best one I have seen so far. The P6 is nice and flat. If you want to carry a 9 and are on a budget there is no better deal out there right now IMO.
I may order one or two more for the kids. Good investment.

I bought two from the local gun store..., they look new in the box at first glance...
One is for my son the other for me...
I took mine to a Women in the Outdoors event where we taught about 3 dozen ladies to shoot and gave them ammo ... they mostly loved the P6... fit well in their hands and the recoil was managable... mostly first time or novice shooters...Using speer lead free frangible.. nary a blip.. and that stuff causes problems in my para tac 5 sometimes...
I haven't tried cor-bon in it as I am running a bit low...but plan on that soon... the internet stuff I have read on this says the ramps need to be recontuoured on some of the older guns...
Mine looks like they replaced every spring in the gun...very tight and after 500+ rounds... looking good still...
The second gun is sitting in the safe waiting ...unfired by me... with a set of Tru-Glo TFO sights waiting for ... Installation.... and my son's birthday....
These guns are a great deal...

Turner's has had them, check them out there - but they are overpriced. Or if you're in south OC, Saddleback Valley Guns has had a couple in the case.

I would recommend going to aimsurplus.com and having one shipped to a local FFL if you are interested in buying. I just saw one shipped to a guy at Saddleback that looked darn near unissued. As mine was definitely used, I was pretty jealous!!

Anyone looking to tune yours up could try this spring swap-out kit. I have not installed this, so I can't testify to it...

In any case, I have one and love shooting it. I will say it does not function as nice as my P226, which may be due to the beefed up springs in the P6 variant. I have had two or three failure to feeds in many hundreds of rounds with the P6 (it's only occurred with winchester white box), however I've had my P226 since around 1993 and have never experienced this with any type of ammo - and back when I was hardly able to afford to drive to the range I put some nasty ammo down that pipe (remember norinco 9mm?).

Nagant,
the one you looked at at Saddleback is mine. I had AIM ship it there. Glad you like it.
Now I want to know who you are. PM me if you are interested.

If it's the same one, I was the guy standing at the back end of the counter with you when George opened that pretty P225 box it came in, and told you to take that unused holster home at that time while you waited on the DROS - and I was drooling over the condition of the gun

Here's mine...added grips (was lucky to find a set!)

Mine also says made in West Germany, but I've seen pictures of others that do not have that stamp on them. The ones without the stamp are older than mine.

Man, this is a clean one, too. Nice look with the Pachmayrs.

Sorry I don't remember. Lt's meet up down there some time. Bring your Glock 26, we can figure that sight out, too.

X,
Go and order one from AIM right now. They are backordered and will go fast.

FYI: They all have the year of mnaufacture staemped on the right side of the slide. They aslo have a NW stamp, which stands for the state of iisue. Nordrhein Westfalen was the state that issued the P6. (Baden Wuerttemberd issued the Walther P6, another state issued the H&K P7, in case you guys were wondering).

Too late to edit. The Walther is the P5. My typing is lousy. Sorry guys.
