An indoor range, and a public one at that is a real difference from what I'm accustomed to. I kinda like having a little trolley bring my targets to me, like in "Lethal Weapon" but what a difference in the noise! Every time the guy in the lane next to me fired I flinched REAL bad, kinda like a turtle trying to pull his head back into his shell, until I put on some different hearing protection that Mikey let me use. I'm used to using my Peltor electronics that I use at an outdoor range and they just weren't going to do the job. I couldn't believe that an indoor range could be that different.

Good range day and dinner and an EXCELLENT party with a great group.

At On Target there is a guy who practices Air Pistol next to the heavy bangers .... he sais it helps him concentrate in big matches.... Olympic Trials etc. Nothing really bothers him on the line now. He is incredibly focused.

He ended up 6th this year at the Trials and missed making the Beijing team. He still holds the US National Record in Free Pistol 50 Meters.

I have always found the big bangers disctracting so I try to practice with my pea shooters and 22lr on the other side ....

thanks for sharing that. Cool Info

the problem for Mad Geek was his ear protectors were falling apart and they were made for outdoors (very low NRR rating). He got some new ones from a friend and it solved the problem (NRR 30).

OK, throw me under the bus, Buddy! I'm glad you had a spare set for me to use. I've added to the group buy to get something better than my "cheap" break-apart set.

I show up in OC for a range day and and not only do I walk away knowing that I need new hearing protection for indoors, but now I need to call "A Guy" as soon as I find out when my 30 days is up since my last purchase so I can buy an Ultra Carry II. Maybe I need to stay away from OC.

I need to make sure we time it right so DOJ doesn't bounce it back, or maybe I just need someone to have it ready, at today's price?

The Ultra CDP II is a sweet carry pistol. Glad you got your hearing protection covered for a good shoot.

This group is awesome, wish I had the ability to spend more time down there to visit and train.

We are the kind of friends that can get expensive!!
I was at "A Guy's" today filling out the DROS for my Ultra CDP II and now I have to go the 10 days, which, of course, is much worse than writing the check!
As usual Female Instructor did all the heavy lifting , but I did get a few minutes with "The Guy". It's like trying to get in to see the Pope!

better than the pope, in the end you get your new gun

When you get it, must go straight to shooting range
