Default Video: Guy Shoots Himself w/ a Glock

YouTube video of someone shooting himself in the hand with a Glock 18 in full auto mode. You can see how it happens...he lets go (or loosens his grip) with his weak hand, fires, the gun recoils and gets his left hand.

You can hear his friend tell him twice to hang on. My guess is that he's not much of a shooter because he's having trouble dealing with the recoil (it's a 9mm.) That's probably the reason he can't get it to fire full auto continuously.

He seems kinda calm for having a hole in his hand. I guess the pain hadn't hit yet

I made it full screen on my 22 inch monitor and it looks like he is laying it across the back of his hand as though he had a tactical light in his weak hand. When it went auto it just backed up and he shot himself in the hand .

So much for “doing it Hollywood

Yeah, Glocktalk is saying it looks like he has some type of vertical forward grip (non-OEM) and it comes lose and that's when he shoots himself. The grip is what's on the floor.

He did have a fore grip and it did come off. As he is turning towards the camera with a still loaded weapon in his hand you can see him drop the grip.

That is the problem with affordable firearms. Any idiot can own one and probably does!

I think GLOCK needs a better class of customer. They need to double their prices...

Yeah, those darn dishwasher safe guns.

Reminds me of the time parts started falling off of my Colt.
No, wait! That never happened....

Perhaps someone should have showed him how to hold the gun and proper stance. He can't seem to handle the recoil - most likely because his gun arm is bent.

It sort of looks like he's also pushing out with the vertical grip hand and pulling in with the trigger hand... so that when the vertical grip gave way, it really set himself up to shoot his hand.

IMHO:
- No disrespect to you, but I have to disagree with the "better class of customer".......but, I get your intent.

Its not the price of the firearm that makes idiots....its them first being "idiots". Prices dont do anything to discourage stupidity. No excuse for "stupid"

IMHO: Increasing ammo prices are bad enough. I sure dont want higher prices on firearms.

fwiw: If it is a "true" Glock 18, they dont come CHEAP

The Universal, "poly" = PLASTIC, Rail on Glock Frames, most handgun frames for that matter were not meant for a Vertical Grip. I guess they found out the hard way.........

Think people forget they have to think "more" & be more alert, than blank out around firearms.

Thanks, Rant off........
