Default Ultra CDP to rent

Anyone know of a range in OC, RS, SB counties that rents Kimber Ultra CDPs? I have never shoot a 1911 or a .45 and want to make sure I really want this, before dropping a grand.

Thanks

Nope, but I'm sure some of the kimber club here could be persuaded to meet you at a range to let you try theirs....

If its not 5 inches then its not a 1911. Owning a 1911 is some thing everyone should do and it should be a nice one so you can truly appreciate what it is. I would save your money and when you can get $2k together buy something real nice that is a true 1911.

Now I say this because you dont CCW so I am not sure why you would want such a small gun in 45acp. I have 2 Les Baer's one which has been worked over even more by John Harrison and my 3rd 1911 is a Springfield TRP. All nice guns but the TRP being $1400 doesnt come close to the quality those Baer's have which run only $1800. That $400 difference is huge when you compare quality between a production gun and a semi custom. Kimbers are full of MIM parts and arent anything special so make your first 1911 something you will wipe with a rag after touching it, assuming its not a ccw piece.

Let us know when you want to do a match and I can bring all 3 1911's for you to play with. I am warning you that you may not want to shoot one because when you do your bank account will become much smaller. If you do ccw in the future then you can still run a full size 1911 easily with a good rig so I can bring my Milt Sparks holster/belt/mag pouch for you to try on. You are a bigger guy and will have no problem with a full size "real" 1911 on a good rig.

Hmmm, REAL 1911, what an opinion to have.

Looks like John Moses Browning made a few that were less that 5 inch barrels.

Heh. Should've mentioned it last time you were out at Burro.

Thanks to CCWI now I gotta come up with the money to get a CDP. Thank you very much for letting me shoot your personal gun. Having never shot a .45 it wasn't as bad as I thought especially out of such a small gun but it will take some getting uses to, I guess I'll need to get one and shoot it a lot. Maybe go through basic handgun again.

Thanks, at the time I wasn't sure if I wanted to get one. I still kinda consider myself new to shooting and felt it was time to move up to a .45 and if I get one I want it to be the one I can carry.

That's exactly how it happened for me. And I'd already purchased a gun. He's evil that way.

Like a drug pusher the first one is free, just a sample tell your friends but if you want more you gotta buy the next .45 fix.

I have a Raptor II and a Ultra Cary Pro... the carry pro has a light frame and kicks a bit hard compared to the Raptor all steel frame, but they both are real nice... Looking to get a tactical or CDP Custom next....
Addiction, yes it is.,.......
