Default For those of you that buy guns from out of state.

The must conform with this CA law effective 7/1/08. Failure to do so, the gun must be returned to the sending FFL. At your expense.

From another member.

Hello to all CA Customers, As I am sure most of you are aware, the new mandatory CFLC (California Firearms Licensee Check) process goes into effect on July 1st. All firearms shipped into CA on or after July 1st require a verification approval number from the California Department of Justice (CADOJ) Bureau of Firearms. You can read the full details here...... CFLC Overview - Bureau of Firearms - California Dept. of Justice - Office of the Attorney General We have already registered for an online account which will allow us 24/7 access to apply, and receive approval, for all firearms shipments into CA after July 1. To avoid the necessity of the CA shipment approval(CFLC), all existing and new orders must be complete, with payment and your receiving FFL dealer info by no later than midnight EST on Sunday the 22nd of June. Although we may be able to ship some special orders placed after this deadline, we can only guarantee orders place by this time will be shipped prior to July 1 and CFLC. We appreciate the many years of support from all our CA customers. In return, we pledge to continue to support you by complying with the CFLC and continuing firearms shipments into all areas of CA. Thank you, Rex McClanahanVice President http://www.BudsGunShop.comwww.BudsPo...SafeOutlet.com

As part of a new California Firearms Licensee Check (CFLC) program, effective July 1, before a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) can ship any firearms to an FFL in California, the shipping FFL must first receive the approval of the California Department of Justice. All shipments of firearms to a California FFL must have a verification approval number from the California DOJ. To obtain approval, the shipping FFL must have the California FFL's five-digit Centralized List number and fill out an application and provide the invoice number and quantity of long guns and handguns to be shipped. The application process will be available to FFLs online and via facsimile or telephone once the FFL is enrolled in the CFLC program.
The CFLC program is the result of AB 2521, sponsored by California Assemblyman Dave Jones. It was quietly signed into law by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and the California Association of Firearms Retailers (CAFR) are aggressively working to seek a resolution to this burdensome and onerous regulation. "This is a bad law that will needlessly burden the lawful commerce in firearms, imposing heavy costs that will harm California's firearms retailers while doing nothing to reduce crime," said NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel Lawrence G. Keane. "NSSF and CAFR are actively engaging legislators and the attorney general's office to address this very serious problem."
NSSF and CAFR will keep retailers updated via legislative alerts.
