Hello. I was being talked about and you what happens. I used to live in California and now I live in Arizona and I thank God everyday for that. I run a training business that focuses on teaching bad things to good people. By good people I don't mean cops or those who happen to have a CCW.

You will hear all manner of things about me. Some are true. Some are not. Those who say bad things about me, please continue as any press is good press. Some people have been saying bad things about me for at least ten years and it hasn't hurt me so I am not worried about them continuing.

I prefer to teach private citizens and conduct about 20 classes a year in the USA and various parts of the world. We have staff instructors in Central and South America, Europe, Africa, and in about every state of the union. Next year I will be in various countries in eastern europe.

Our staff and I carry Glocks as our daily carry here in Arizona, and everyone is also issued a Kalashnikov rifle to keep up on their training. I usually shoot once a week and teach at least twice a month...somewhere. Wednesday we hold a bible study at the shop amidst stacked AKs and boxes of DVDs, holsters and various nylon gear set aside for shipping out the next day.

We have never met in person, but I have heard about you. Interesting enough it was in a negative context, but it was neither here on this forum nor was it in any way related to what calccw is trying to achieve.
I personally do not know why you would start off posting here the way you did, but I am sure you must have your reasons.

I just have one question regarding your statement about AK. Is it because you consider AK as reliable as your Glock carry piece?

Well thanks guys. I do get to CA once in a while. I am really sorry you guys have such a mess there with things. Still, we have staff guys (and gals) that teach out of Burro Canyon in Southern Cal and a few that travel up into northern Cal on occassion. Who knows...I may get back there next year too.

I know of your training and am well aware of what you teach. I follow alot of your training and implement it into what I have already been taught. More impressive then your success in business is your conviction to Christ. Your one of the few people in this industry that consider your business as a ministry. Most impressive when a man has his priorities straight (Christ, Family, Country).

Ditto on that. I am also impressed by YOUR email. Many dont often understand our walk and the responsibility it entails when you share your belief.

I have lurked on the forum since it's inception since hearing about CalCCW.com after taking a CCW class from FI. I have refrained from posting for privacy reasons in the past, and have been enjoying myself just absorbing the great information available here.

I have not posted in the past, but I feel strongly enough about this to break my anonymity to lend a voice in welcoming Mr. Suarez.

I have personally trained with Gabe Suarez and have taken many of his courses over the years and have found his training extremely valuable and eye opening. What Mr. Suarez teaches is NOT dogmatic, politically correct or gentle. It is NOT designed to make you feel good about your nice gear and merit badges from other schools. It is VERY real world, very brutal, very effective and often challenging humbling training (the best kind IMHO).

I have also had the privilege of seeing the methods and techniques Mr. Suarez has taught constantly evolve and innovate over the years since the first class I took over 10 years ago. It is a great thing to find an instructor and school who is willing to teach an un-censored and un-watered down curriculum to us mere/lowly civilians , and to find a school that is willing to innovate and teach cutting edge material.

What I have learned from his courses about dynamic movement alone has changed my perspective on CCW more than I would have predicted and has really opened my eyes and broadened my horizons.

If you are interested in the total self defense picture (the integration of hand to hand combat skills with shooting, edged weapons and dynamic movement), you would be well advised to look into the vast amounts of free information that Mr. Suarez generously offers via his news letter and forums. If you choose to take a class, you won't regret it, I didn't.

I don't think Mr. Suarez was intending to exploit this forum to advertise his services for free here, I think he was just clarifying some disparaging remarks made about him in another thread.

There are many fine instructors and schools out there. I personally hope and plan to train again with Mr. Suarez in the very near future.
