Hello everyone. I am interested in obtaining my CCW here in Ventura County despite the horrendous amount of time that I've heard that it takes here. I just drafted my Good Cause and I'm looking at further ways to enhance and strengthen it.

I have heard that it takes a year or more to obtain a CCW from the Ventura County Sheriff's department because they are understaffed in processing the applications. I wonder, though, if it might be worth trying to obtain the CCW through my local police chief instead of the county sherriff. It could speed up the process though I have no idea about how the local police chief responds to CCW applications.

Depending on which city you live in, they may have gone "G" see PC 12050(G). If they did you need to go to the S.O.
