Just joined and trying to find my way around. I am applying for CCW permit in Plumas County. Are there any hidden problems with the process? Like to be prepared for the unexpected.

Welcome aboard. Make sure your Good Cause statement is adequate for your county. I am not sure how critical that will be in Plumas Co though. Maybe self defense will work.

The lady at the Sheriff's office handling CCW applications said to use "I travel in remote areas carrying large sums of cash". Evidently they consider credit cards as large sums of money.

Sounds like your house is in order and ready to go. Go over your application carefully and be sure you have it right. You should be good to go.
