Default Hi, All! Moving to Southern California...

How goes it? I'm just heading back to Southern California from the Midwest and now directly from Boston...

I've been a socal resident for a bunch of years, but never really got a CCW nor was I as worried about it as much as I seem to today. Nothing urgent - simply got passionate about the issue...after seeing the evolution of what happens in California by living in places like Boston and Chicago. in Massachusetts, you can get a CCW...known as an LTC (license to carry) provided the city chief issues it, which leaves for a lot of discretion as to what cities do and don't like to issue - a pain altogether. In Chicago, you cannot have a handgun effectively in city borders, including in your own house. It's an infractionable offense, and they use the Parks laws to enforce whatever Daley sees fit to keep citizens from owning guns and using them against his thugs when they get the itch...never have I seen a more corrupt city, nor a more tolerant populace...

Hobbies? A military leftover where I own a couple of airplanes, build saltwater coral reef aquariums, scuba dive and enjoy lobster hunting when I can, raise German Shepherds and train them for Schutzhund and other fun things, rebuilding pinballs and occasional video games, and more...

Look forward to getting to know you all!

Default "Collection"

Nah - I come with a very slight one.

S&W Model 59 (nostalgically gifted), a couple of shotguns (a Benelli H20 and a Benelli Cordoba), a Remington 700 .308 with a milspec steel barrel, a trigger job, a nice BDC scope, and a few other things to boot...left my old HK91,93,94, and a few other things in the olden days in California...

Looking forward to starting a real collection !

Welcome!
While it isn't exactly Southern Cal... Kern County has a lot to offer... including lower home prices... a little airport or two... and a relatively easy to get CCW...
Just so you know...
