Default New to CalCCW, not new to CCW

I jumped over to this site because it seems that all my other usual sites have gotten pretty...lame, for lack of a better word. Hopefully that doesn't happen here. This is a very important issue to me, not that I carry as often as I'd like to or should, but if people can start to selectively support or deny our rights this state (and country) are doomed.

Welcome to CalCCW, mcholak.

I hope that you will find, as most of us here have, that this forum stays a little more focused and provides a wealth of information. Not only to the new to the issues, but to the seasoned veteran as well. As it states at the opening page of the forum, "Dedicated to helping all residents of California who have the legal right to own or possess a gun pursue their right to obtain a CCW license." . No BS or empty ramblings, no bashing of other forums, just statements based on what we know or can learn as fact. Granted there will be statements that are based on opinion, but that's how all of us learn to look at things differently so we can form our own.

Glad to have you join us. Please take the time if you haven't already, to read the Frequently Asked Question sections, and specifically the County FAQ for Fresno County as your first hand knowledge of the process there will allow you to help us fine tune the information we provide. First hand knowledge is key.

Glad to have you join us, neighbor.

Welcome mcholak!!!

I likewise gravitated to CalCCW.com for reasons probably similar to your own. I also lurked, and still do to some degree, on the "Other Sites" however, I was either put off by some of the content or simply became uninterested over time.

The CalCCW.com methodology of "one CCW at a time within the confines of existing laws" is much more in line with my mind set and one I wholeheartedly endorse.

I also appreciate the fact that part of that methodology is that "you may not always be told what you want to hear, but you will always be told what you need to hear".

There is a plethora of great information available here as well as an eqaully large number of good people ready and willing to help.

The FAQs is a great place to start. Many, if not most, of your questions will probably be answered there.

Thanks again for joining. I look forward to your contributions.

Welcome to CalCCW. I did not see in your message anything to indicate where you are located (county), but if you happen to be an Orange County resident then you are doubly welcome. As you may know, Sheriff Anderson was not selected to finish out Sheriff Carona's term, which means that CCW in Orange County faces a serious challenge.

Welcome aboard. This site is a wealth of information, it was a real help as I went through the different stages of my CCW permit process.

Thanks for all the welcomes! I actually recognize a lot of you from CaliforniaCCW.com. That board has completely dropped off! It's good to know I've got another resource to rely on. One that seems much stronger and much more in depth. Hopefully I'll even be able to contribute here and there.
