Default Another Gun Friendly Computer Tech

Just found this forum and wanted to check in and say hello...!

I am in Palm Desert, CA, and run PC-ASSIST/MAC-ASSIST/FA-ASSIST. Computers (21yrs) and firearms accessories. I am also working on an FFL.

Moved to CA from NY in '04, three years after living through 9/11 (.15 miles from ground zero) and getting mugged Memorial Day 01. (I was defenseless, cornered, unarmed and one of the three mongrels had a firearm and used it to break my left hand.)

Currently I have a permit for exposed carry as security and have been awaiting the Riverside County CCW since submitting it and going through the interviews 12-06 and 2-07.

I did get one out of state permit and am working on another for when I do move and when I travel.

Welcome to CalCCW, ExNYAWKA.

There's a lot of good information in our General FAQ section, as well as the County specific FAQ section. Since you've already applied in Riverside County you probably have a pretty good feel for the process and requirements there. Your experience with the application process may help others in their journey, so please feel free to share, but make sure you don't post your Good Cause statement on the forum. Those are private and need to remain that way for your safety

Welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome...we are too few in this state.

I know after reading around to not give out the "good cause", and thanks for the advice in any event.

I have been waiting a year or so and no word...I would like to freelance in plainclothes details but am hindered in doing so without the permit...especially since summer business in my field goes way slow....

I don't know if I should call the CCW unit or just let it be...any advice?

That's a question for CCWInstructor. You should PM him if he doesn't chime in here.
