Hello all,
Don't really know why I'm here. I live in Sonoma county and I stand a better chance of getting a business licenses for a meth lab then I do getting a CCW.
I can carry in 29 other states but I can't carry in the one in which I live. Now isn't that a crazy messed up world!

CalCCW is a very useful forum for the California CCW community. We do not condone in illegal activities. Few members here are law enforcement and government officials.

Your best bet is start reading the FAQ's.

I was legal to carry in about 30 other states before I got off my but and submitted my application for the California CCW. When I spoke with my Sheriff he requested I give my local Chief of Police the first right of refusal. I never thought I would be issued here in Ca., but I recently renewed my ca permit after 2 years and was again successful.

It sure was nice not to have to dis-arm when crossing back across the border into my home state.

Do your homework here, you never know for sure until you study up and if appropriate submit your application. A properly stated decent GC can go a long way.

PS. After a little research I see Sonoma Co. issued 116 permits in 2005, so the SO there does issue.

Some people just do not have a sense of humor. The status of CCWs for Sonoma Co. was in 2005. It has taken a big dipped and it harder to get one now. They are even turning down renewals. Be sure that you do your home work and remember that large amounts of money does not count for a CCW unless you donate to the election funds. Are you in a city or county area.

It may be helpful to just practice until you can change your forum name to at least "okayshot" .
Welcome, aboard, and good luck. Sonoma isn't easy.

I didn't actually think you did condone illegal activities.

In any case welcome aboard and I hope the information here is a help. I did not realize that Sonoma Co. had become that much more difficult to acquire a CCW in recently.

I see by your sig line that the latter half of your original post is a little tongue-in-cheek.

Hey, move a few miles north to Mendocino County. There must be a reason we don't hear many Mendo residents complain about getting a CCW.

Thought about it many times. I like it up there but the wife likes it here.
I'm a member of the Ukiah Gun Club and go there on a fairly regular basis. Nice place and nice people.

The reason you don't hear any complaints about Mendo is they issue up there.

You must realize "BadShot's" avatar is after he shot a complete box of ammo at the target and he is bummed that he had 8 misses out of the 50 .... all the rest are in the black and you can't see them. Nice understatement ...
Welcome aboard.
