Default Live in Riverside, work in Orange County

Hi from Riverside/Orange County. I JUST found this site some 10 minutes ago. My best friend of 30 years is a LT in a PD in Oklahoma and he and I have been gun enthusiast since we known each other. He suggested I apply since “the worst that can happen is they would say, ‘no’”. So, I thought I’d do a search first and here I am. So . . . hello everyone! I’m glad to be here and I look forward to maybe one day being able to carry. Incidentally, my only “good” reason for wanting to carry is that my ex-wife wants me “gone” and I have reason to believe she has at least once looked into it.

Welcome, DanTheMan.

A friend of mine used the same logic when he asked the just-retired Miss America for a date.

They have 3 kids now.

In Riverside County it's tougher to be issued than Orange and San Bernardino counties. Working in Orange County won't matter. If you have any documentation of what you suspect about your ex, that may be helpful. Don't post information about it here on the forum though. Check the FAQs about Good Cause. Hopefully some Riverside folks will be more helpful.

BTW, from one Dan to another, welcome!

Welcome to CalCCW from a little bit North, DanTheMan.

Sound like you have good reason to have an ex-wife, and I'm sure there is a lot more to the story we DON'T want to know.

Good luck to you. We are glad you found us.

... documentation of your ex-wife's actions/intentions; even better if it's by the PD

Default Documentation? Hmm

Unfortunately, my documentation is with my attorney. I was advised against going to the police with it due to the method it was obtained. My council added that if anything ever happened to me, then they would have the evidence. Needless to say, I am discouraged about my prospects.

Short of this specific information that could show possibly sufficient good cause, I am little more than a gun loving, red blooded American living in a may issue state.
