(CA defines C&R guns as those on the ATF list AND the gun must have been made more than 50 years ago).

The Certificate of Eligibility is then obtained from the CA DOJ. You will not be able to buy modern firearms without the wait. However, I'm told it will exempt you from the one handgun per 30 day rule - but I've not tried it.
If you have the COE + Type 03 FFL (C&R) you are exempt from the 1 gun per 30 days rule in all cases; you are exempt from the 10 day wait rule only on C&R purchases.

Example:

purchase 1 new handgun each day this week, wait 10 days before you can pick them up though.

purchase 1 C&R handgun (or long gun) each day this week, walk out the door with the gun.

This can be a real nice thing if you want to buy lets say a pair of matched pistols? Perhaps a super deal on guns, limited time only?

I renew my COE every year, it is cheap to renew, but really not worth the initial cost--you will need a special live scan, + the initial fee. Since I already went through the upfront costs, I keep renewing mine.

The C&R + COE is a nice deal, you will find your limits are not waiting periods but space in your safe, and money in your wallet!

Speed is the key. They have now a process time of almost a year, due to the fact that since 9/11 they have been swamped with CCW apps.
Any further assist, we are here.
Welcome.
