Default Another FNG!

Hey guys I found this site a few days ago and have been reading over it. As an active duty Marine in Oceanside I am sure that I have no chance of getting my CCW. I guess I will just stick around in case something changes. Great site you have here!

Another FNG. Gotta love it! I've made an assumption of what that means.

Welcome, Marine! And do a little poking around here. I think you can get your CCW. (unless there is some Military rule prohibiting such; as far as I know there is not as my clerk went to Iraq 2xs and had/has a FL CCW)

You really think San Diego will issue him?

Welcome! Unfortunately that will not help you with the process here. Btw, I heard something about marines going back to the 1911 platform. What is your current standard issue sidearm?

That would be the Beretta M9 and I wish that rumor was true but it's not. There are however a few still in use in select units.

That is too bad. M9 is.. well... eh ok I guess. I'll have to dig around though and see what I can find cause I was pretty sure I read couple fairly definate references to the potential move away from the m9.

Welcome aboard Marine1911 and thank you for your service.

I had the priviledge of working with some Marines in the middle east before I retired in 1995. They were all carrying 1911s. They were from one of the select units you refered to though.

Again, welcome aboard and thank you for your service, it is appreciated.

Thanks,

The Air force is moving ahead with the new 1911 platform. The JSP, they have a RFQ out on it. Everybody else backed away from the idea. I've seen several models that manufactures are going to submit.

Well, hopefully the RFQ on the JSP will come back PDQ, or else they'll be SOL.
