So, an option would be for you to move to a more CCW friendly county. I don't believe there is a uniform standard regarding the length of time that you have to be a resident of that county before you can apply. I believe it varies by county. I believe OC is at least 6 months. I know CCWI has posted on this previously and can confirm or correct me.

Unfortunately, if as I suspect, you're just an average guy, you don't really have any if you're going to stay in LA. The average guy in LA doesn't get issued. It sucks. I know.

he is a liquor store owner. I think that qualifies for someone to be in more risk to bodily harm than the average person.

He can carry in the store where the robbery will most likely happen....As for CCW in Valencia...your chances are slim. It's the culture in L.A. and that sheriff. If you were a movie star, you'd have no problem.

I suggest you strap on a good .45 with a couple of extra mags on your belt while working the counter.

Not in the view of the Sheriff of LA. By average guy, I mean, he's not a celebrity, or a wealthy campaign contributor.

Thumbs up Welcome

Sorry for all the bad news on CCW's in LAC but welcome anyway to the forum.
Plenty of good information here and the troops are OK also.

I can tell you now that your opinions voiced by the Deputies are going to very by Deputy. Some believe citizens are bafoons with guns and cannot be trusted. Some will want you to be able to carry concealed if your a good guy. And believe it or not, some won't even know that people could get a CCW unless they had some connection with law enforcement (read family, employees, or money).

Hmmm....

What's the donation limit for an LA Sheriff's campaign?

IIRC, In 1996, LA voters approved an ordinance limiting donations to $200. The amount increases to $1,000 if the candidate agreed to spend less than about $1.5 million.

Could a poor schlub like us donate enough to get on Bacca's radar?

I would imagine that the rich have other ways of showing their friendship to one another.
