Default Hello, from Central California (Tulare County)

Hello there everyone. I'm from Tulare County, and I own/run a wine and beer lounge. I'm plenty comfortable with sidearms, having grown up with them, and am planning on carrying a SIG P228. I did a quick search, but wanted a little more insight from you guys here. I want to apply for a CCW because we have large sums of cash in house, I carry large sums of cash (all of my employees carry their own drawer, and I carry an excess for additional change needed), I deposit large sums of cash 2-4 times a week and I also travel frequently (job related).

I'm concerned for the well being of myself, my girlfriend (also an employee), my employees and my business. Do I stand a good chance of being approved for a CCWP?

Transportation of valuables including $$ is certainly a good reason. I am not familiar with your county but in OC... you would be good to go. I would recommend writing your GC and PM to someone familar with your county.

Welcome and good luck!

Your situation does give the upper hand in applying for a CCW.

Sounds decent to me. With some good thought on how to verbally present your GC you should be good to go in a liberally issuing county.

Good luck and let us know how things go.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Is it "Strider" as in the knives or is it "Strider" as in Lord of the Rings?

Thank you for the replies so far. I will be sure to keep you all posted with my progress on this.

BTW, this is a great site, and I would like to contribute some money. What e-mail address can I paypal some funds to? Would I send them to Greg?

I was a huge Tolkien dork way back in the day (Jr. High), so that's where the Strider reference comes from. They do make great knives though.

Strider is a name I've been answering to for quite a few years now. I'm also into automotive racing (Laguna Seca, Willow Springs, etc) and I've used the name Strider on those forums as well. Needless to say, if someone calls me Strider, I actually answer to it.

All sounds reasonable to me but you'd probably have a major hitch here in Plumas County as our CCW permits have "Not valid in bars" typed onto them.

Good luck with your permit and keep us posted!

By Penal code he can CCW in his own business.

He needs the CCW when he leaves his buiness, he will be fine legally.

At least I'm not the only one answering to my screen name! I've actually only been a Trinity for a few weeks now, but sadly knew to answer when my friend said he'd have to ask Trin.

Welcome to the site!

I doubt I would be smiling after having a Code Brown run on me, so I'll wait to go through the blood initiation.

You have a very good chance. The people at the sheriffs office or nice and very helpful. I live in Tulare and got mine do to carrying large sums of cash from job site to the office and traveling the state. It takes about 90-120 days to hear from them but well worth the wait. good luck and be safe

This site was established to provide assistance to California residence who wishes to legally obtain a CCW within the rules and regulations under California laws. This assistance was to be provided with no monetary incentives for the forum "owner/s, partners". Obtaining money from a non-partner of the forum would appear to turn this site into a paid service which would go against the philosophy used to establish this site.

Well that would explain why you sent the money straight back to me. I appreciate where you're coming from on this. I only sent money because I run several other online forums, and I know all of the costs involved to run an online forum (I was also a network administrator for over a decade, so I know it's a thankless job ). Please know that the donation wasn't meant to go against any kind of philosophy used to establish this site, I didn't mean to offend you or anyone else and I didn't expect anything above and beyond what you do for any other member of this site. Keeping this in mind, I hope you reconsider and accept my donation. However, if you would like to keep things the way they are now, I completely understand that and, again, I apologize for any misunderstanding.
