Sounds like you have a great mix there. The CCW class I took was privided by the Madera County SO. It was free and it met the requirement. Based on what I've seen available, there are classes that go way beyond the requirement for a permit that sound useful. Especially when they go beyond expecting that a concealed pistol is the only source of saving your own butt.

I took mine from a guy in Springville (Tulare County.) Super pro-gun guy with some interesting handouts.
I threw in my app in Tulare a couple weeks ago. Not much on my good cause. I'm LE, but not included in 830, so we'll see.

Visalia Sportsmans Association also has trainers in their group. Namely, Gil out at Boa's Minnow Farm in Woodlake, and also check with Easley's gun shop out on Goshen Ave.
