Talking Hello New Guy In Long Beach Interested In Ccw

hey guys great info thus far on this site. I'm a 20 year living in long beach. i work at a very dangerous bar as security. my boss doesn't want me to carry-openly, for safety reasons. just wondering. Would there be any way that I at 20 be issued a CCW, even if it's just for work??? If not I turn 21 in July

I doubt you'd be approved for that purpose. I don't live in LA, but my understanding is that getting a CCW approved for security work is very difficult at best, in any county here. You see, "they" know that a security guard with a CCW can command a very hefty wage... as a body guard. That's where your problem lies... and will be the major one you're going to have to overcome regardless of your age.

The folks that know your area would probably tell you the same thing. It never hurts to ask though!

ETA: My bad... Long Beach IS in LA County... that essentially reduces your chances to about zero.

Even though the answers that you received are not what you were hoping for, they are none the less accurate! But welcome to the Forum anyways.
I do hope that you stick around.

Location is two fold. Chief Tony Batts of LB does not issue, Sheriff Lee Baca won't either. Thats two reasons. He good cause and age are the other two. Good cause is the main issue. Being 10 years older wouldn't help him a bit.

A 20 year old can get a CCW? I'd think age is the one circumstance in his life that he CAN'T change.
