Default Newbie to San Diego

I am now in the San Diego area thanks to my job and am looking into getting my CCW. Is there any one who is good with words that might be able to give me some friendly insight as to key phrases to use and avoid. Thanks

welcome aboard

doing your good clause statement is your own, read through the forum and make your own statement

when complete, send it to ccwinstructor for review, I believe email is the procedure

put GC statement in the subject line

my apologies for not having the link

Welcome to our humble site. If you are active duty marine, your chance of our current Sheriff issuing you a CCW is somewhere between slim and none. If not, you will need a Good Cause that is firly strong. Read through the site a bit and you will see what we are alluding to. You have to have a strong reason why you are more at risk than the general public. We also have an election coming up this year as well as several gun-related lawsuits, so things could change for the better. Thank you for your service.

Welcome XD45marine!!

From his moniker, I can tell I am gonna like this guy already.

Welcome to the forum Leatherneck. We do have someone who can help you with the GC. Don't post it, that is frowned upon. Get your thoughts together, write it up, and send it to CCWInstructor via email with GC help in the subject line. His email address is greg@firearmstraining.com and he will help you get it squared away (Marine lingo for all you non-hackers). San Diego is known to be a tough nut to crack. Hopefully you will get a new Sheriff soon and it will loosen up, but for now...

Glad to have another Devil Dog on the forum. For a while there it seemed like we were gonna take over, but the Orange County crowd just won't let us get a foot hold.

Wish you luck in SDC.

Keith

Well thank you all for the welcome. I am new to this forum but not to firearms. I have been in the Marine Corps for 11 years as a Military Police Officer and been around guns my whole life. Found this web site while researching stuff for my CCW. So far a lot of good info on here. Now to put pen to paper and start the process

On this forum, we attempt to foster a respect for the law and stay far away from "bending" the law. We also don't need anyone to be a test case. And while concealed does mean concealed, the way we conduct ourselves as CCW holders reflects on all of us. Don't carry somewhere just because you can get away with it. Carry there because it's legal and you're welcome there.
