Default hello, newbie here

So I just recieved my application from SBC. I'm rough drafting employment and residence because I can't seem to remember every little detail. Anyways my question is about my character reference letters. The four phone contacts clearly states no family, past employer's, and persons who have written personal reference letters. So can I get one from my spouse, father, brother ect? I only have 4-5 good friends to consider for the phone calls. I could ask the neighbors if I have to, just weighing my decisions. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of great SBC information to be found here as well as most of the answers to your questions.

Each of us (from SBC) has faced the same dilema that you are right now. You need to open your mind to other possibilities for the letters. I think you will be surprised about who would or could be willing to write an endorsement of you.

You are in a good county to get your permit. I douby you will have much trouble with the process. The only advice I can give is to choose your refs/contacts carefully. You don't want the process bogged down because the BI hasn't gotten the reference letters and can't get ahold of the contacts. Get all your ducks in a row before you hand in the application and all will go smooth.

Welcome to the forum,

Keith

If you can't remember details, do NOT apply until you remember EVERYTHING. If you leave any details out, it can be used against you in a denial.

For the 3 "letter writer" references, choose people who are the most educated and speak well because all will be contacted by phone.

For the 4 other references, don't stress about about them, as long as they check their mail regularly. They will simply get a one-page letter in the mail that they quickly fill out and mail back - they will NOT be contacted by phone.

Good luck and welcome!

This is all good info. Make sure the 3 contacted by phone will call back if left a message. If they don't call back or the others don't return the questionare it will hold your application up. Good luck we live in a great County SBC.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am just jotting down dates for employment and residence right now. Also going through old paperwork and finding information slowly but surely. I do have to take a drive for one address because I can't remember the number but fortunately I can still find the location. Anyways If anyone is wondering about the reference letter question I had earlier I cleared it up with a phone call to SBCD today; No relatives for ALL of the seven contacts. Thanks again, will update as needed.
