Default CalCCW.com Site Rules

We thank all you for joining us here at CalCCW. We are committed to expanding knowledge of Concealed Carry in California and assisting responsible individuals in obtaining a CCW. To aid in this endeavor we have adopted the following forum guidelines. If there is a dispute over these 'rules', the forum administrators and moderators will be the final word. Please contact the administrators or moderators if you have any questions regarding the rules.

General Rules:

This is primarily an informational site. The free exchange of pertinent information and civil discussion concerning isues related to CCW is encouraged. Rudeness, insults, and personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Each member is allowed one account. Registering multiple accounts is not allowed. Multiple user registrations for one individual are not permitted. If it is discovered that an individual has multiple accounts, we may delete or suspend one or all of these accounts without notice.

We strive to be a family-friendly forum, so please keep your language clean and appropriate. Getting 'cute' with alternate meanings/spellings isn't cute to us. If you violate this language rule you will be warned. Once. After that your account may be suspended or deleted.

Please post when you have something to contribute. Posting just to post is a drain on our resources, both technical and personal. Also, topics unrelated to CCW are discouraged and may be deleted. 'Hot button' topics especially will be subject to deletion. We all know what these topics are. If you don't, no problem--stick to CCW and you'll be fine.

Don't even think about promoting or suggesting illegal activity on the forums. Posts such as these will be dealt with harshly, as will those responsible for them.

Bashing of other forums is not allowed.

We reserve the right to take any and all actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way. Posts that run afoul of the above rules may be edited or deleted at our sole discretion.

Picture Posting:

Members are allowed to post on topic pictures. It is preferred that you upload them to a reputable and stable hosting site (Photobucket, Imageshack, etc...) and insert them as images in your post. Please limit their size to 640x480 to prevent window resizing for some users. If you must show a larger image, please just link to the external image so that members may see it in its full size if they choose by clicking on the link. Threads with broken picture links may have the links removed as we come across them.

Avatars:

Avatars must not be in poor taste. Period. A size restriction is set at 100x100 pixels, with a maximum size of 50k.

Signature Size Limits:

All signatures should not exceed 250 characters. BB code is allowed, HTML code is not allowed.

Advertising:

If you operate a business related to CCW (holsters, gunsmithing, training) and would like to link to your business in your profile, we only ask that you be a contributing member of the forum and do not blatantly advertise in your posts. Drive-by posting for the purpose of advertising will lead to those posts being deleted and the user being suspended or deleted.

It is OK to have a link to your website in your profile and nowhere else. Listing all your credits in your signature falls under advertising. There are quite a few instructors here that do not advertise themselves nor list their credentials or qualifications. That does not mean though that if appropriate to drive a point in discussion home a specific skill, qualification or credential cannot be mentioned.

Posting a calendar of classes is advertisement and we do not allow it. The idea and theme behind this site is education about what and how to obtain CCW in California without promoting specific businesses. It's up to the students to post about their training experience in the training forum. A happy student is a best advertisement that an instructor can have.

If you have assisted any vendor in any way shape form or manner and you are recommending them as a vendor for a service or a product, please be sure to disclose that fact when posting.

Members may not offer for sale items directly on the forum. This is not a member to member marketplace.

Links in Signatures:

Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not an affiliate program link. Promotional text for a commercial product or service is allowed, provided it is not considered blatant advertising or spam. Keep it low key. No linking to auctions in signatures is allowed.

If you can abide by the guidelines above, we're glad to have you as a member of CalCCW

Welcome!!!

Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!
