Default Its good to be home!

I am new to your forum and wanted to introduce myself and get some input from some CA CCW holders.
I am a lifetime CA resident that due to the present economy has been staying with friends in TX for the past 6 months but have finally come home to Truckee! I love Truckee and have called it home for the past 15 years and own property here that has been my residence for the past 11 of those years.
I am interested in getting my CCW but obviously have heard how difficult it can be so I am looking for as much information as I can get regarding the likeliness of being successful before I apply.
A little about my specific situation... I have a spotless record and good reputation within the Truckee community including the local merchants association for my efforts running one of the local businesses for 11 years. My property is within Placer County but I am allowing friends to stay it in for the next six months and I will be staying at friends within Truckee and Nevada County limits while my friends are in my house. Despite common practice of blowing it off I did give up my CDL for a TX drivers license after being in Texas for one month as required. I plan on changing drivers licenses back to CDL ASAP and will use my property address for this since I will be back in it soon and this is where all my mail goes. I am also received my TX CHL while staying there which I will be switching to a "non-resident CHL" as required.
Any input or stories would be greatly appreciated and specifically any thoughts on my specific situation regarding "home" being in Placer County but staying just a few miles away in Nevada County for a few months. I am also wondering if I will need to wait the two month new CA resident waiting period before applying because of my short visit to Texas and receiving a drivers license.

Thanks in advance and see you at the range,
Rich

We do have CCW holders from Truckee on the site, Perhaps one of them will chime in soon. Welcome home.

Welcome home. I believe there's a CCW instructor in Truckee, Dennis Cook...maybe contact him for some info. Along with possible input from other members here, that's a good start. Best of luck.

Welcome back to Cali. Your situation may have some pitfalls. I am sure someone will be along shortly to spell out all your options. Good luck.

Keith
