Default County of riverside, city of riverside. new member, got my gloves on

Hello to all, I have been reading the posts here for about a year now.... finally decided it was time to join... Anyway, I am a resident of riverside city in need of a ccw, and in turn, in need of some serious advice. I need to run my good cause by some knowledgeable individuals.... will anyone hear my case? I have done some extensive research, and i think i have the right idea and some good cause, but need help in my sales pitch.... thanks so much for your time!----J

Welcome jhec15. Our resident expert here is greg@fireasrmstaining.com and he can go over your GC for you. Put GC review in the subject line.

Best of luck.

Welcome jhec15. I am right next door to you in MoVal. I have heard that City of Riverside is not easy. Greg will be able to help you with the GC statement. Keep us posted on your progress.

Default Riverside CCW App

I recently contact the RSO about CCW and they have their app online if anyone wants to take a look at it and their requirements.

It appears they'll only issue a CCW for personal protection if you have a verifiable death threat.

I read through the packet. This statement bothers me:

"VALID DEATH THREATS OR HARASSMENT ARE THE ONLY CRITERIA WHERE ISSUANCE OF A CCW PERMIT WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR PERSONAL PROTECTION. THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY SHERIFF DOES NOT ISSUE PERMITS TO 'PROVIDE A FEELING OF SAFETY' OR TO ALLEVIATE A 'FEAR OF VICTIMIZATION'."

In other words the sheriff is sort of like Sheriff Hutchens. You guys need to elect a new sheriff in my opinion. Makes me glad I live in a rural county up north where the sheriff honors our 2nd amendment rights and knows our lives are worth defending regardless.

Based on that, I wish you LOTS of luck. Better go get yourself a voodoo doll.

Will Rogers said, "There's three kinds of people.

There's them that can learn from books,
And there's them that has to whiz on the electric fence for themselves."
I prefer to be one of the first two kind and to learn from others' mistakes.

Default Riverside County CCW

The Riverside County Supervisors voted yesterday 3-1 to request that the RSO revise or loosen for lack of a better term the requirements for obtaining a CCW. Now GC will include personal defense. Given the impending release of so many Felons from California Prisons this next year, the police can only do so much... Finally someone is using their head for something other than a hat rack.
.
Quote from The Desert Sun Today "The Riverside County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved a resolution urging the sheriff to consider granting concealed firearms permits to law-abiding residents who cite “personal defense” as the reason for wanting one."

There may be hope for us ordinary Riverside County Residents.
