Default hello from fairfield

newb from fairfield saying hello. i've been walflowering for the past week or so and i'm impressed with the topics and humor of this forum. i'm a california native, grew up in rodeo, lived in vallejo, concord, and have settled in fairfield for the time being. i'm an operator at the oil refinery in rodeo. new to hanguns in general but have learned alot about the issues di jour that we all face. i'm interested in getting my ccw too. i'm content for now to absorb as much legal and practical knowledge i can before i even begin the process, which by the way, through reading most of the posts i've found others in this forum who have blazed the trail. thank you.

well. more questions to come.

thanks again for providing such a great place to learn and laugh

matt

Welcome, I also read posts for several months befor I joined. Pretty painless. I learned what I needed for a sucessful application. I feel I actually learned more from here than the mandated 8 hour training class.

Welcome! Please keep us posted on your CCW quest. It would be interesting to know how or if Fairfeld PD issues CCWs.

thanks for the warm welcome. in response to kimerdude. i sent an email to the fairfield pd asking them if they did the firearm instruction for ccw and was suprised to receive an email back from lieutenant don schneider. he said that no they did not offer the class but gave me the contact info to r&d in napa, and wished me the best of luck. i will surely seek help with the gc portion.

I think Kimberdude was wanting to know if Fairfield PD actually issues CCWs (not conducting the training class) or whether they defer to the Solano County Sheriff. I believe they defer, but I'm sure you can verify that.

I know this thread is about 5 months old, but i was wondering, black oil, have you made any progress in your ccw search? I live in Suisun, and was wondering how hard it is to get one here in Solano Co.

Solano is not very easy, but I have a friend who lives in Fairfield, and he informs me that you might have a good candidate for Sheriff.
