Default Intro: Lots of rounds down range but not at my expense!

Thought I would do an intro, ask a question and provide a little background info on myself. I moved to CA a few years ago. Just recently became a hand gun owner and shooter and thinking about applying for a CCW in OC.

My understanding is I can, without a CCW, carry in my house and on my property open or CCW? If that is true and I am in a Condo the entire condo is also my property? I could not find any thing in the rules for the condo forbidding it. I want to state at this time I have no intention of walking around carrying. I would like to know the above information prior to doing my creative writing on a “Good Cause Statement”.

Just thought I would through this in. When I was around 11 I got stopped by the police once for carrying open. A friend and I were walking down the business section of town. Went something like this “Where boys going with that gun” “To the river to shoot tin cans” (holding up paper bag of empty soda cans). “You boys have ammo?” “Yes sir holding up our ½ box of .22’s”. “Your parents know where you are?” “Yes sir”. “You boys be careful and don’t point that towards town” “Yes Sir!” and he drove off. That would have been about 1960 or so. It is a far, far, different world now.

VN two times, US Army the first time and a DoD contractor the second. Left Iran at gunpoint while working for Bell Helicopter International. Was in the Army Reserves for a few years and transferred to the Kansas Air National Guard, retired one year prior to 9/11. I got to know more that I wanted about several military weapons. I did fire a .45 a few times in the Army and a 9mm in the Air Guard but never thought about it much. Several of the people I work with got my wife and me to go to a range to shoot with them. My wife likes to shoot and will be picking up a .380 she liked in a few days. An H&K USP .40 felt good to me, so I bought one.

Default Thank you

Thanks for the welcome. That was a fast response. I guess I like HB ok. I am still getting used to being around so many people all the time. Where I used to live I was on stop sign and one stop light away from open motorcycle country. Guess I am not in Kansas any more.

Yes you do not need a CCW to carry in your condo. Do not TOO creative with you GC.
