Be nice if you could use that, but they are looking for more "Specific Target" than being a member of the armed forces...
Terrorists aren't as interested in attacking Military as you would think...At least not on American soil. The number of US soldiers lost in Iraq is minimal, compared to the civvies the insurgents are killing. Terrorists on American soil would prefer to target soft targets, not well armed and guarded ones. I don't say this to minimize what they are doing in Iraq, or to denegrate them, it's just the harsh reality.
Remember, the PENTAGON was the target, not the people inside it. I used to get seasons tickets to Ducks games, which is listed as a specific potential target, but could I get a CCW based on that? Can someone who flies a lot use that as Good Cause?
Now, hypothetically, if you find out your girlfriend was actually married, and her white supremacist husband JUST got out of jail, THEN you probably have good cause to substantiate that you are a specific target.
Trust me, I would not have a problem with trained military folks being issued CCW's...I wish they could use that as GC
