Default CCW Renewal,

Went through renewal process at SBSD today.
A reminder to those who have a San Bernardino CCW, they are requiring you to notify any LEO with whom you come in contact with, about your concealed carry weapons permit and firearm location, if you are "packing".
We have previously beat this subject to death before, as to the different ways to accomplish this.

Thank you one and all, for your good wishes!!
My CCW expires in mid Sept.-08.
The next class after the July class was scheduled in Sept, this was at the main sherif station, 655 E. Third St, San bernardino, so the date of that class was too tight with no back up for my CCW renewal.
They have other venues with classes scheduled on different dates. I requested to take the July class so that the pertinent background check and any other paperwork could be finished in a timely manner, as the word is that no extensions will be given if you allow your CCW permit to lapse. The fact is that they are time challenged now because of the recent high volume of new CCW applicants.
You will receive a form letter with all requirements and renewal info. This letter is not tailored to anyone's time frame in particular, so you need to be aware of your own expiration date and take action to get everything done in a timely manner. Do not allow it to lapse, try to be early!
Cooperate and graduate!
Do not procrastinate!!!!
By the way, in a lighter note, the sheriff personnel teaching the class were all females......very attractive at that.....If I ever "go bad", the lead instructor is welcome to be my arresting officer!...or otherwise .....Please officer, I can't seem to be able to hit my target today, can you teach me to shoot my weapon!

Thanks for the update!

When I got my permit, notification was suggested as a good idea but not required. Good info. Thanks again!

A clarification. I meant, "When I originally got my permit". Now it is a requirement.
