I think I have even heard of kids getting into trouble for even drawing guns (as in with a pencil) or talking about them in school. What's next? "Thinking about a gun gets kid suspended"?

I missed it at my high school, but when my brother went to the high school just a few years earlier they had a rifle team. I understand there is still a high school rifle team near where I am now living. I hope it's true.

Nowadays, many kids are being taught that guns are bad. So, what else would you expect a kid to think who grows up with that mentality and someday has access to one? Schools don't teach responsibility; They teach kids that guns are bad and if you have one in your hot little hands it is expected you will do something bad with it. Dumb!

And that’s the point now isn't it, it's called indoctrination.

This is how you slowly change a society that you would not be able to change otherwise, you go after the children while the parents are asleep at the wheel.

When children are taught these things such as firearms are bad at this young age they will carry it with them for the rest of their lives and it will prove difficult to change their outlook later on.

What most people don't realize is that this cuts both ways. The kid will learn, because of this, that his teachers can't trusted. He will learn that government really is "out to get him" and cannot be trusted. He will learn that the law is misused for intimidation purposes. He will likely not become a "model" student.

He WILL however, become an adult who will likely sit on a jury some day. And he will likely remember how badly the gov acted towards him. And he may transfer that rememberance to the prosecutor's case.

When I went to high school in New York City I carried a .22 rifle and a brick of ammo to school almost every day and went on busses and the subway. We had a school rifle team and travelled all over with our guns to various other schools to compete in matches. Nobody even thought about it. Nobody bothered us at all. Not even the Transit cops. Regards, Bob.

I mentioned this story on facebook before, I'll mention it here.

In the 11th grade, we had to do two presentations with a partner. One from the first 100 years of US History, one from the Second 100 years of US History.

My buddy Jordan Williams and I did a play about the Alamo. We brought toy guns and real (BIG) knives and swords, and we interspersed our play with scenes from the Mexican and American camps.

We got an A+, and no suspensions.

Ahh...to be in the days where common sense was...well..common...
