Default CCW Attorney with Office in Oakland/Berkeley/Richmond Area?

I am looking for an attorney whose info I can keep in my wallet.

Those in San Jose are lucky to have Don Kilmer, and those in San Bernadino have Bruce Colodny.

Does anyone know of any good CCW attorneys in Oakland/Berkeley/Richmond area?

Those are the only two I would ever call. They both work in your area. Stick with the best.

How does that work since they are so far away?

My understanding is that if you are ever involved in a CCW incident, per other postings the best response is to shut-up until you have the counsel of your attorney. Will Bruce Colodny fly up to northern California in the middle of the night to represent the CCW in the questioning by authorities?

Yes and he may not need to. You are the homeowner, the shooting looks good. They will release you on your own recognizance.

Just say
1) I didn't do anything wrong.
2) I don't wish to answer any questions.
3) I would like my attorney present.

Thanks CCWI for the response. But I'm confused by the part about the "homeowner"? What does being a homeowner have to do with it? I'm referring to any incident in which a legally permitted CCW has to use their concealed firearm (ie. out on the street, in a parking lot, in a restaurant...). In these cases, my understanding is that even though you have a CCW you are arrested and held as a suspect until the authorities can question you. If the CCW states that he won't speak until his attorney is present, wouldn't that mean you would have to wait in custody until Bruce Colodny could fly up from Southern California (which may be several days)? It seems more logical to just have a local CCW attorney. Know of any in the Oakland/Berkeley/Richmond areas?

Didn't you answer your own question in the OP. Why couldn't you call Kilmer if you got in trouble? That is like, what, an hour drive from San Jose to Oakland? But like CCWI stated...keep your mouth shut until you have an attorney present!! BTW...what are you plannin'

i think he is just trying to get his "just incase ducks in a row." Plan/train for when you need to use the weapon, plan for after you have to use the weapon.

Just make sure that whomever you choose has an experienced partner or replacement to take over when you lawyer is on vacation or otherwise indisposed.

Was hoping for one local to my county, or better yet, cities of coverage. I will of course use one of the attorneys suggested above if I am unable to find one closer....

Does anyone know of any that have an office in Oakland/Berkeley/Richmond?

I just met Mr. Kilmer, and was favorably impressed. Believe me, when you're looking for a specialist, the distance between you and San Jose is insignificant.

They still might release you depending on the circumstances. Stick to the 3 statements CCWI gave you. Then shut up. Worst case scenario you get an extra night in custody while you wait. I say it would be worth it to avoid...........?

Means you are not a flight risk.
