cant you just unload it, throw it in a soft pistol case ,throw a lock on it and keep it on the seat next to you? im sure if you really needed to, you could rip the lock off and tear open the zipper.


Is that not perfectly leagal locked container?

If you order a FRAME you have to have it shipped to an FFL and it needs to be DROS'ed. It's as simple as that.

U.S. Code Title 18 Part 1 Chapter 44
§ 921. Definitions
(a) As used in this chapter—
(1) The term “person” and the term “whoever” include any individual, corporation, company, association, firm, partnership, society, or joint stock company.
(2) The term “interstate or foreign commerce” includes commerce between any place in a State and any place outside of that State, or within any possession of the United States (not including the Canal Zone) or the District of Columbia, but such term does not include commerce between places within the same State but through any place outside of that State. The term “State” includes the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the possessions of the United States (not including the Canal Zone).
(3) The term “firearm” means

(B) the frame or receiver of any such weapon;
(C) any firearm muffler or firearm silencer; or
(D) any destructive device. Such term does not include an antique firearm.

the Cal Attorney General, among other postings, provides the following summary of California law. As relevant to this discussion, it is lawful to transport a concealable weapon in a vehicle if it is unloaded and locked in the trunk. See page 28 of the document at the following link:

Of course the difficulty there is, how do you get it into your trunk without violating the law? We've had several threads discussing that one. keep reading.

And will they defend you in court when they forgot to publish everything?

12026.1. (a) Section 12025 shall not be construed to prohibit any
citizen of the United States over the age of 18 years who resides or
is temporarily within this state, and who is not prohibited by state
or federal law from possessing, receiving, owning, or purchasing a
firearm, from transporting or carrying any pistol, revolver, or other
firearm capable of being concealed upon the person, provided that
the following applies to the firearm:
(1) The firearm is within a motor vehicle and it is locked in the
vehicle's trunk or in a locked container in the vehicle other than
the utility or glove compartment.
(2) The firearm is carried by the person directly to or from any
motor vehicle for any lawful purpose and, while carrying the firearm,
the firearm is contained within a locked container.
