I'm wondering if anyone here has had public episodes of the gun sticking out? I mean you trip, your pant leg goes up and your ankle holster is showing, reaching for the fresh milk in the back and your SOB peeks out a 1/2 inch, it's a windy day and your jacket flaps open. Small incidents where your concealed weapon is exposed or your concealed carry status is compromised.

If the gen pub does notice this how well are you received? To they scream and run away or do they wink and forget it the next moment?
I don't know about it being a misdemeanor to allow someone to see your gun... 417 does include the words "... rude, angry and threatening manner"...
Having you shirt/jacket etc. accidently expose your gun around here usually means you have to talk to the sheriff or chief and they discuss that ccw means concealed....It can also involve the mounties screwing a glock into your ear but I digress....

However as to your other question...

I was coming out of church one night, with my family, my now 13 year old was about 3 and was horsing around... I picked him up and threw him over my shoulder... my Astra 380 (OK see I even admit to carrying it occasionally) literally flew out of my jacket and went skidding across the pavement in front of about 30 people... being a smart alec I simply popped off with "alex I told you not to bring your toys to church", picked up the gun and kept on walking... fast... I hears a lady say "that looked like a real gun to me"... onlyest time it happened but it was real embarassing...

Not to mention not being terribly good for the finish on your gun.

Remember it is their perception, not yours.. . . .

I have to admit I thought that was a funny story.
In regards to 'brandishing'. First they need to see it, second they need to call LE. In my opinion people just don't pay attention. They are way too busy talking on the phone and drinking Starbucks coffee. Now if you drop it and slide it 100 feet that's a different story.

I see a guy in a suit with a holstered gun on his right hip on a regular basis at a restaurant I frequent about once a week. He takes his jacket off before he sits down for lunch exposing his firearm. He carries a semi auto in a black leather holster with a black dress style belt. No badge visible anywhere. I sat at the table next to him last week. Nobody ever looked at the guy twice. People I work with sat 10 feet from him and didn't even notice the gun. I pointed it out to our Admin and her reaction was: 'Oh, he's probably a cop'.
My point: Make sure you have good concealment. Relax.

Edit: I am sure it helps if you dress and look like a professional.

See... I am at the stage where I can admit to owning and carrying a mouse gun occasionally... however this incident happened 10 years ago and now I am older and wiser... why I looked at one of those kimber ultra cdp II things the other night at a class... ittybitty...kinda cute... 45 acp....and I will admit to lusting after it ... at least a little...Still have the astra and it doesn't have much of a finish... BUT IT IS NOT BECAUSE I CARRIED IT ALOT... REALLY........PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN...

Once again, your integrity impresses me. But did you shoot it yet?

That's funny as hell.

Bottom line.........don't print..dont show your weapon.....period. I can tell you that a CCW can be taken away for any reason, why risk it? It's a privilege, don't test the water, it's ice cold, grasshoppa.
