Default Got my New TT Holster, But ?

OK; I received my new holster and Mag Pouch today
At first I am very Excited, they are Beautiful.
First the Mag Pouch is an OWB and Perfect
The Holster however has Zero Retention when not wearing it, when wearing it my belt holds it snug.
I beleive a Holster should have enough Retention to hold the Weapon firmly enough, that holding it upside down you should have to give it a firm shake or two to make it drop out, Also I beleive it should take alittle push to seat it in the Holster.
Anyway see Video's and you can see it has Zero Retention

When my TT was new I could shake it when it was upside down and it would retain I dont know now that's it been used for so long. But in all honesty does it matter how it behaves when its not being worn?

Send it back, tell Tim your problem and he will fix it. You have to remember, all 1911's are slightly different because of all the different manufacturers, I have the same holster for my 3" Kimber Ultra Carry II and the retention is so good that I could walk on my hands and the gun would still be held in tightly.

Tim will adjust the holster for you and get it back to you quickly.

Yeah I am sure he will take care of you.

With my Milt Sparks I have had to let my firearms sleep in it with a baggy around them it to loosen them up a bit. That seems much to loose. Though IWB with belt in the end you probably would have no issue. But again contact Tim.

My VM-II would drop my .45 now that it is well broken in. When it was new I could barely get the gun out.
Once on my hip the retention is good. No need to fix it in my opinion.

Yeah I don't see it getting worse than it is. Really it is just pre broken in for him. Good point.

You should be happy with your purchase. Send it back and give the man a chance to make it 'good'.

I see where Tim is sending you a new one but, for use on a motorcycle, I would want positive retention, like a strap.

i have a TT holster for my 3" 1911. If the holster is well secured on a gun belt, it is very unlikely it would come out if i was on a motorcycle.

as PHM said, if i was to walk on my hands upside down, the firearm WOULD NOT move, let alone fall out.

He will stand upon his head until his face is turning red - go see Punk, go see Punk, go see Punk!

(with apologies to Cal Worthington and his dog spot).

Got my New Holster the other day, Much better fit
I feel more confident that it will retain my Colt while Riding.
I was suprised that Tim didn't want me to return the first one, his note said Not to send it back.
I have wore the first one around it is fine for normal wear, just didn't trust it for being on the Bike.
By the way they Holsters and Mag Pouch are Beautiful
I do wish I would have ordered the Standerd instead of the Mikes Special.
With my Bone structure and being about 30lbs over weight my full size Colt puts pressure on my Hip bone.
I find that if I hike my pants up an inch, it takes that pressure away.
Very Comfy on the bike though, hardley notice it is there
By the way Tim and his Holster's are Awsome and worth waiting for
