I use to carry IWB, but now I almost always carry OWB, it conceals almost as well with a high ride TT gunleather OWB and it's a million times more comfortable.

The only time I use IWB now, is when I absolutely have to becuase my shirt doesn't cover, but that is so uncommom, a normal t shirt works fine with my owb and I have never been made.

OWB TT Gunleather pancake. Tried different IWB holsters, and just could not get comfortable. Outside is better for me.

I just turned in my application and am waiting for my letter. I applied in Kern County and have a solid GC, so I'm confident that it will be approved. I figured I could start trying out different holsters and have a good system down by the time I get my letter. And if my application gets denied... then at least I will have a system for when I go camping.

I have a slim build... 5'9" and 135lbs. I have been wearing smaller, more form-fitting clothes for a few years (after I met my wife). If I started wearing baggier clothes all of the sudden, I think plenty of people would notice. In other words, I have a limited amount of options that pass the $64,000 question (If I were not trying to conceal a handgun, would I wear this outfit?). By the way, I will be concealing a Sig P239 with a Hogue grip. My first attempt is a Belly Band, which came in the mail today. I've been wearing it around the house, and so far I love it. I like all the different placement options that it offers, and it has been comfortable so far. I found out that any placement on my frontside is not going to work with the shirts I wear. There is a spot on my back that keeps the gun concealed even in a size small t-shirt and doesn't print unless I bend all the way over. I also like the extra pouches... I could fit about 5 extra mags in this thing if I wanted. I can jump up and down or do a handstand, and the gun doesn't budge. And lastly, I don't have to worry about it falling down when I pee. Draw time is not the best, but it's not that bad. I could easily see this becoming my everyday carry method if I get my permit.

You're too self concious ,you aren't looked at any differently when your packing a handgun,no one knows what you have tucked in your waistband or in your pocket and there isn't a neon sign on your bod announcing" He's Armed".

The self-consciousness will fade when you start packing, and get used to the idea that you aren't being "made" every time you turn around.

I used a belly band almost exclusively for a couple years, and it's still an excellent method of carry, and the most concealable for me. BTW I carry a P239.

I just got a TT Gunleather Mike's Special. I LOVE it. It does require a more sturdy belt than the belly band.

Why would you carry everyday?I'm retired from LE but I only carry when I go into certain locations I know present a risk.Another LE retiree who had to go in to LA for business has 2 neighbors who are lapd retirees advise him to arm himself,he told them he was armed.

Am I reading you correctly? That you ONLY carry when you go into an area that has some risk factor to it? I live in a very rural county with small crime rate, yet Stockton and Sacramento are only an hour away. We too get the occational "gangbanger" type up here that think they can get away with things because "we're just a bunch of stupid country folks" One can NEVER be sure when or where one of these guys might be around and I, for one, will always be prepaired to protect my family and myself.
Today, more than ever, every location has a risk to it. Sad, but true, Im afraid.

If I end up getting my permit, I will be carrying everywhere I legally can. I just saw a story on the news recently about a shooting that happened in a gated community in one of the nicer parts of town. All the neighbors acted completely surprised, and they couldn't believe that something like that could happen in their perfect neighborhood. I have nothing against gated communities, but I think it gives some people a false sense of security. I've seen several times where somebody waits outside the gate until one of the residents opens it, and then they just drive through while it's still open. Anyway, to answer the question, I would carry every day because crime can happen anywhere at any time. I'm not going to fool myself into thinking that I don't need to carry just because I'm in a "safe" part of town. I would rather carry and not need it than be unarmed and have no options if something went down.

You're not deputized, you're not a le member and you don't want to get involved in anything.Your CCW is for your protection not the community at large.
